Rano (Emirate)
Rano Emirate is a second-class emirate located in Kano State, Nigeria in 2019. It is also one of the oldest settlements in Northern Nigeria, dating back to the 6th century AD. Rano Emirate has a rich and diverse cultural heritage, with historical monuments such as rocks, walls, and palaces. Rano Emirate has historically been part of the Kano Emirate, which was a Muslim state that emerged from the Fulani jihad in the early 19th century. Rano Emirate has had three ruling dynasties: the Kwararrafawa, the Habe, and the Fulani. Kano (Hausa language, Hausa: ) is one of the 36 States of Nigeria, states of Nigeria, located in the Northern Region, Nigeria, northern region of the country. Muhammadu Sanusi II, ( Ajami: محمد السنوسي, ''Muhammadu Sanusi na biyu'' ; born 31 July 1961), known by the religious title Khalifa Sanusi II ( Ajami: خليفة السنوسي), is the spiritual leader (''khalifa'') of the Tijanniyah Sufi order in Nigeria and the emir ('' Sarki'') of the ancient city-state of Kano. He is a member of the Dabo dynasty and the grandson of Muhammadu Sanusi I. He succeeded his great-uncle Ado Bayero to the throne on 8 June 2014, assuming the regnal name Muhammadu Sanusi II. Kabiru Muhammad Inuwa
Kabiru Muhammad Inuwa (; born 1965) was the 2nd Rano (Emirate), Emir of Rano after the death of Alhaji Tafida Abubakar Ila Auta Bawo. Before being appointed as emir of Rano, he served in the Nigeria Immigration Service, Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) and led traditional responsibilities where he served as Kaigaman Rano and District Head of Kibiya. Rano Emirate was one of the newly created emirates in Kano State by Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje which was headed by Alhaji Tafida Abubakar Ila as the 1st Emir and preceded by Kabiru Mohammad Inuwa. Following the re-establishment of Kano Emirate Council, Kano Emirate in 2024, Kabiru was deposed as Emir of Rano and Rano Emirate was dissolved. Kano Emirate Council
The Kano Emirate Council is a traditional state in Northern Nigeria with headquarters in the city of Kano, the capital of the modern Kano State. Preceded by the Emirate of Kano, the council was formed in 1903 after the British pacification of the Sokoto Caliphate. The borders of the Emirate are contiguous with Kano State. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje
Abdullahi Umar Ganduje (born 25 December 1949) is a Nigerian politician who served as the governor of Kano State from 2015 to 2023. He previously served as Rabiu Kwankwaso's deputy governor twice, from 1999 to 2003 and from 2011 to 2015. He is a member and national chairman of the ruling Party All Progressives Congress (APC). Abba Kabir Yusuf (born 5 January 1963) is a Nigerian politician who has served as governor of Kano State since May 2023. He served as commissioner of Works, Housing and Transport when Rabi'u Musa Kwankwaso was re-elected for a second term in the executive council of Kano State from 2011 to 2015.
