Rankin Building (Santa Ana, California)
Rankin's was a department store at 117 West Fourth Street at Sycamore in downtown Santa Ana, California. The Rankin Building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places on its own and also as a contributing property of the Downtown Santa Ana Historic Districts. The store had its origins as the Rankin Dry Goods company, founded in 1894. Mr. J. H. Rankin of Bloomfield, Indiana, together with T. D. Huff & Sons opened up the dry goods store on the site of Swanner's Grocery Store. The store was enlarged three times before moving into the , three-story space at Fourth and Sycamore in 1917. Rankin Block
The Rankin Block is a historic commercial building at 600–610 Main Street in Rockland, Maine. Built in 1853, it is a fine example of a late Greek Revival commercial block. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978. It currently houses a senior living facility. Description and history The Rankin Block is located on the northern edge of Rockland's central downtown area, at the northwest corner of Main and Rankin Streets (both signed United States Route 1). The original portion of the building is a three-story masonry structure, built out of brick with granite trim. It has a gabled roof, which is pierced by four irregularly spaced gabled dormers. The ground floor has four retail storefronts, articulated by granite piers and topped by a granite stringcourse, with two building entrances set symmetrically outside the center two storefronts. Rankin Building (Columbus, Ohio)
The Rankin Building is a historic building in Downtown Columbus, Ohio. The building was completed in 1899 by L.L. Rankin. It was built for the Buckeye State Building and Loan Co., which Rankin was president of. The company later moved down the street to the Buckeye Building. A Neoclassical facade was added in 1930 when it became the Union Building Savings and Loan Company building. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982. The building's current tenant is the Diamond Exchange, a local jeweler owned by a former chair and current member of the city's Historic Resources Commission.
