Ranjani is a Carnatic music, Carnatic raga, which is also sometimes written as ''Ranjini''. This raga is a ''janya'' of the 59th ''Melakarta'' raga Dharmavati.''Raganidhi'' by P. Shree Ranjani
Sriranjani is a ragam in Carnatic music (musical scale of South Indian classical music). It is a hexatonic scale (''shadava'' rāgam, which means "of six"). It is a derived scale (''janya'' rāgam), as it does not have all the seven ''swaras'' (musical notes). It is also written as Shri ranjani or Shree Ranjani. It also exist in Hindustani music, with a different scale. Aroh: Sa, komal Ga, Ma, Dha, komal Ni, Sa; Avroh: Sa, komal Ni, Dha, Ma, komal Ga, Ré, Sa. Rajani Thiranagama
Rajani Thiranagama (née Rajasingham) (23 February 1954 – 21 September 1989) was a Sri Lankan Tamil human rights activist and feminist who was assassinated by the LTTE cadres after she had criticised them for their atrocities. At the time of her assassination, she was the head of the Department of Anatomy at the University of Jaffna and an active member and one of the founders of University Teachers for Human Rights, Jaffna. Biography Early life and education Rajani was born in Jaffna, in northern Sri Lanka, to middle-class Tamil Christian parents. She was the second of four female children. She attended primary and secondary school in Jaffna, and in 1973, she entered the University of Colombo to study medicine. In university, she became actively involved in student politics. Ranjani Shettar (born 1977) is an Indian visual artist known for her large-scale Sculpture, sculptural installations. Her work has been exhibited at Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. Her works are in the permanent collections of Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, and Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation, The Guggenheim Museums and Foundation.
