Rangnim Mountains
The Rangnim Mountains are a mountain range stretching from north to south, west of the Kaema Highlands, in central North Korea. They are the source of several major rivers of North Korea, such as the Taedong and the Ch'ŏngch'ŏn. The mountain range is generally highest in the east, and falls towards the west. Its highest peak is Wagalbong, at 2,260 m. Lake Rangrim is located in the mountains. Naming The variants ''Rangnim'' and ''Nangnim'' are pronunciations of the same name in Northern and Southern dialects of Korean, respectively. North Korea
North Korea, officially the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), is a country in East Asia. Kaema Highlands
The Kaema Plateau is a highland in North Korea. It is surrounded by the Rangrim Mountains, the Macheollyeong Mountains and the Bujeollyeong Mountains. Elevation varies between 700 and 2,000 meters and is approximately 40,000 square kilometers. The Kaema Plateau slopes downward towards the northern border of the People's Republic of China and is the largest tableland in Korea; it is often called "The roof of Korea". Taedong River
The Taedong River () is a large river in North Korea. Chongchon River
The Ch'ŏngch'ŏn is a river in North Korea having its source in the Rangrim Mountains of Chagang Province and emptying into the Yellow Sea at Sinanju. Lake Rangrim
Lake Rangrim, also known as Lake Nangnim, is an artificial lake in the Rangrim Mountains of Chagang Province in northern North Korea. It was formed by damming a river valley to produce hydroelectricity. Korean Language
Korean is the first language, native language for about 81 million people, mostly of Koreans, Korean descent. It is the national language of both South Korea and North Korea. Mountain Ranges Of North Korea
A mountain is an elevated portion of the Earth's crust, generally with steep sides that show significant exposed bedrock.
