Lambert Hillyer (July 8, 1893 – July 5, 1969) was an American film director and screenwriter. He is best known today for his many western features, his horror films ''The Invisible Ray (1936 film), The Invisible Ray'' and ''Dracula's Daughter'', and the first ''Batman (serial), Batman'' serial. Biography Lambert Harwood Hillyer was born July 8, 1893, in Tyner, Indiana (his 1946 resumé amended this to South Bend, Indiana). His mother was character actress Lydia Knott. A graduate of Drake University, Drake College, he worked as a newspaper reporter and short-story writer, then as an actor in vaudeville and stock theater. During World War I he began working in motion pictures with the Mutual Film, Mutual company. Stanley Blystone
William Stanley Blystone (August 1, 1894 – July 16, 1956) was an American film actor who made more than 500 films appearances from 1924 to 1956. He was sometimes billed as William Blystone or William Stanley. Early years Blystone was born in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. He was a steel production engineer and worked in ore mines before he became an actor. Career Blystone is best known for his appearance in Charlie Chaplin's '' Modern Times'', playing Paulette Goddard's father, and several short films starring The Three Stooges. Some of his more memorable roles were in the films '' Half Shot Shooters'', ''False Alarms'', '' Goofs and Saddles'', '' Three Little Twirps'' and '' Slaphappy Sleuths''. Carol Henry (actor)
Carol Henry (July 14, 1918 – September 17, 1987) was an American character actor who played the parts of henchmen in Western films and television series throughout the 1940s, 1950s and 1960s. He also served as a stunt man in various films although all his work in that field went uncredited. Born in Oklahoma, he appeared in an episode of ''Sergeant Preston of the Yukon'' in 1955 as McClain, a murderer. In 1958 he appeared as a posse member in the TV western ''Tales of Wells Fargo'' in the episode titled "Butch Cassidy." Carol Henry died in North Hollywood, aged 69. John Lacy Cason (July 30, 1918 – July 7, 1961), also credited as Bob Cason and John L. Cason, was an American actor active in both films and television. During his 20-year career he appeared in over 200 films and television shows. He is best known for his work on the television program ''The Adventures of Kit Carson'', where he appeared in several roles from 1951 to 1953. Life and career Cason was born on July 30, 1918, in Valley View, Texas. He made his film debut, as a fighter in the 1941 classic Abbott and Costello comedy, '' Buck Privates''. Kermit Maynard
Kermit Maynard (September 20, 1897 – January 16, 1971) was an American actor and stuntman. He appeared in 280 films between 1927 and 1962. Early years Born in Vevay, Indiana, he was the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Maynard and a lookalike younger brother of actor Ken Maynard; they were frequently assumed to be identical twins. Maynard was a 1916 graduate of Columbus High School in Columbus, Indiana. He graduated with a degree in engineering from Indiana University and played college football as a lineman for the Indiana Hoosiers in the early 1920s. While at the university, he lettered in three sports in one year. After he finished college, Maynard worked as a claims agent for the George H. Hormel Meat Packing Company. Maynard also competed as a rider in rodeo competition. In 1933, he won a Pacific Coast trick-riding championship in the Pendleton Round-Up.
