Randall Svane
Randall Svane is an American composer, born in 1955. His works have been played by the New York Philharmonic, Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra, the Borromeo String Quartet, the Colonial Symphony, Schola Cantorum on Hudson, and in the Musikfest at Gut Bötersheim. A CD of his music, played by cellist Richard Locker was released in 2005.. ''The Cincinnati Post'' was an afternoon daily newspaper published in Cincinnati, Ohio, United States. In Northern Kentucky, it was bundled inside a local edition called ''The Kentucky Post''. The ''Post'' was a founding publication and onetime flagship of Scripps-Howard Newspapers, a division of the E. W. Scripps Company. For much of its history, the ''Post'' was the most widely read paper in the Cincinnati market. Its readership was concentrated on the West Side of Cincinnati, as well as in Northern Kentucky, where it was considered the newspaper of record. The ''Post'' began publishing in 1881 and launched its Northern Kentucky edition in 1890. It acquired '' The Cincinnati Times-Star'' in 1958. The ''Post'' ceased publication at the end of 2007, after 30 years in a joint operating agreement with ''The Cincinnati Enquirer''. Borromeo String Quartet
The Borromeo String Quartet is an American string quartet, in residence at the New England Conservatory since 1992. They have performed throughout North and South America, Europe, and Asia, at numerous festivals and in many distinguished chamber music series. They are named after the Borromean Islands. The ensemble was formed in 1989 by violinists Nicholas Kitchen and Ruggero Allifranchini, violist EnSik Choi, and cellist Yeesun Kim, who were then all young musicians at the Curtis Institute of Music. Kitchen and Kim are husband and wife. Violist Hsin-Yun Huang joined the ensemble in 1994 after Choi left to pursue other opportunities. Allifranchini and Huang left the ensemble in 2000 to be replaced, respectively, by William Fedkenheuer and Mai Motobuchi. In 2006, Fedkenheuer left to pursue other opportunities (is now a member of the Miró Quartet) and was replaced by violinist Kristopher Tong. In 2022, Mai Motobuchi was replaced by Melissa Reardon.
