Rana Fotballklubb is a Norwegian association football club located in Mo i Rana, Nordland. The club was founded 4 December 2017 as a merger of Mo IL and the football section of IL Stålkameratene. The team currently plays in 3. divisjon, the fourth tier of the Norwegian football league system. Mo i Rana () is a city, and the administrative centre of the municipality of Rana, in Nordland county, Norway. It is located in the Helgeland region of Nordland, just south of the Arctic Circle. Some of the city's suburbs include Båsmoen and Ytteren in the north, Selfors in the east, and Åga/ Hauknes/Dalsgrenda in the south. The Norwegian Football Federation ( nb, Norges Fotballforbund, nn, Noregs Fotballforbund; NFF) is the governing body of football in Norway. Mo Idrettslag is a football club from Mo i Rana, Norway. History Mo IL was founded in 1904, as the first football club in Nord-Norge. In the first couple of years, Mo only played against teams with Englishmen working in the area, but on 7 June 1907 ''Ranen Kompani'' was beaten 2-1 in the first match between two teams from Nord-Norge. One of the most memorable moments from the 2004-season was the 0-2. loss against Tromsø IL, fielding players such as Morten Gamst Pedersen in their starting eleven, in the third round of the 2004 Norwegian Football Cup. Idrettslaget Stålkameratene, Stål for short, is a Norwegian sports club from Mo i Rana, Nordland. It has sections for judo, biathlon, Nordic skiing and football. History The club was founded on 11 January 1935 as ''Mo AIL'', a club with membership in the Workers Confederation of Sports.
