Ramón Guillermo Aveledo
Ramón Guillermo Aveledo (born 22 August 1950) is a Venezuelan politician, academic, businessman, and columnist, and former Executive Secretary of the opposition electoral coalition Democratic Unity Roundtable. A former congressman, he was President of the Venezuelan Professional Baseball League from 2001 to 2007, and served under Luis Herrera Campins as Secretary of the Presidency (1979–1984). Author of over 30 books, he is Professor at the Universidad Metropolitana in Caracas. Democratic Unity Roundtable
The Democratic Unity Roundtable (, MUD) was a catch-all electoral coalition of Venezuelan political parties formed in January 2008 to unify the opposition to President Hugo Chávez's United Socialist Party of Venezuela in the 2010 Venezuelan parliamentary election. A previous opposition umbrella group, the '' Coordinadora Democrática'', had collapsed after the failure of the 2004 Venezuelan recall referendum. The coalition was made of primarily centrist and centre-left parties. The main components were Democratic Action and Copei, the two parties who dominated Venezuelan politics from 1959 to 1999. Since the 2013 Venezuelan presidential election, Justice First became the largest opposition party, and Henrique Capriles Radonski became the leader of the opposition. Globovisión is a 24-hour television news network. It broadcasts over-the-air in Caracas, Aragua, Carabobo and Zulia on UHF channel 33. Globovisión is seen in the rest of Venezuela on cable or satellite (Globovisión has an alliance with DirecTV, where it can be seen on channel 110) and worldwide from their website.
