Rampura Thana
Rampura Thana (Bengali: রামপুরা থানা) is a police administrative area (thana) of Dhaka, Bangladesh. It encloses parts of Banasree residential area and Dhaka North City Corporation wards 22 and 23. The major thoroughfare DIT Road passes through this area and connects it to Badda, Ramna & Motijheel thanas. History In 1975, the headquarters of Bangladesh Television was constructed in Rampura, and the network officially moved its offices and studios from the DIT Bhaban that year. It is the site of GSK Dhaka Half Marathon, sponsored by GSK pharmaceuticals and is a popular marathon in Bangladesh. Rampura KC is the local football club of Rampura and it plays in the Dhaka City Corporation Pioneer Football League. Rampura Phul is a city in the Bathinda district in the Indian state of Punjab. Phul Town serves as a Tehsil for villages in nearby area. History Phul Village was founded in 1627 AD by Phul, the ancestor of the Phulkian family. His descendants went on to establish the princely states of Jind, Nabha, and Patiala in Punjab, India. Rampura State
Rampura is a village and former petty princely state in Gujarat, western India. As a state, Rampura was a part of the Western India States Agency. It was classified as a thana (i.e. a very small state) in Katosan, which were entities smaller than even a non-salute state and something of an administrative anomaly, although seen as an expedience in the years immediately following the 1857 Rebellion, the state was attached to Baroda State in June 1940. Such states, says historian John McLeod, "lacked the resources to maintain anything beyond the most rudimentary governments, indeed that they were so tiny that their independent existence was simply ludicrous."
