Ramona Pop (Martin Rulsch) 1
Ramona Pop (born 31 October 1977) is a Romanian-born German politician of the Alliance '90/The Greens party who has been serving as chairwoman of the Federation of German Consumer Organisations (VZBV) since 2022. She previously served as a deputy mayor of Berlin and Senate of Berlin, Senator for Economy, Energy, and Enterprises (''Senatorin für Wirtschaft, Energie und Betriebe'') from 2016 until 2021. Early life and education Pop was born in Timișoara, and grew up in Romania until her family, of Romanian and Germans in Romania, Romanian German origins, moved to Germany in 1988. In 1997 she completed high school. Pop studied political science in Münster and later at the Free University Berlin, graduating from its Otto-Suhr-Institut. Governing Mayor Of Berlin
The governing mayor () of Berlin is the head of government, presiding over the Berlin Senate. As Berlin is an independent city as well as one of the constituent states of Germany (), the office is the equivalent of the ministers president of the other German states, except the states of Hamburg and Bremen, where the heads of government are called "First Mayor" and "President of the Senate and Mayor", respectively. The title Governing Mayor of Berlin is the equivalent of Lord Mayor in the meaning of an actual executive leader. According to the Berlin Constitution, the governing mayor is member and head of the Berlin Senate. The ministers are called senators. The two deputies additionally hold the title of Mayor (, historically: burgomaster). The title Mayor is also held by the heads of the twelve boroughs of Berlin, although they do not actually preside over self-governmental municipalities.
