Ramiro is a 2017 tragicomic feature film by Portuguese director Manuel Mozos. Plot Ramiro is a bookseller and a struggling writer in Lisbon. He is frustrated by his persistent writer's block and his small life, but he is basically settled amid his small used bookstore, his weekly book stall at Lisbon's Feira da Ladra flea market, his friends in the corner bar, and his neighbors. His dog accompanies him, his loyal friend Patrícia looks after him, he drinks and argues with his friends, and he talks to his young neighbor, the pregnant orphan Daniela, and to her grandmother Amélia, who is recovering from a stroke. Basically, Ramiro would like to continue his quiet life in his microcosm undisturbed, but he is increasingly being disturbed. First, Grandma Amélia asks him to visit a man named Alfredo in prison who killed his wife. He visits him and learns that he is Daniela's father. Now he is trying to find out more about the case. Tragicomedy
Tragicomedy is a literary genre that blends aspects of both tragedy, tragic and comedy, comic forms. Most often seen in drama, dramatic literature, the term can describe either a tragic play which contains enough comic elements to lighten the overall mood or a serious play with a happy ending. Manuel Mozos
Manuel Mozos (born June 1959, in Lisbon) is a Portuguese film director. Biography Mozos studied history and philosophy before enrolling at the School of Theatre and Cinema, where he specialized as an editor. He was responsible for the editing of several films, and in 1989, he directed ''Um Passo, Outro Passo e Depois...'' In 1992, he directed his first feature, ''Xavier''. Since then he has also directed several documentaries and video clips, including'' 4 Hearts'', produced and released by Rosa Filmes. Feira Da Ladra
The ''Feira da Ladra'' is the most popular flea market in the city of Lisbon, Portugal. With roots dating back to the 13th century, the fair has moved from place to place over the centuries, until it settled in Campo de Santa Clara, parish of São Vicente, where it now takes place. It is dedicated, above all, to the trade of antiques, second-hand objects and crafts. The fair takes place weekly on Tuesdays and Saturdays, from 9 am until 6 pm. It is one of Lisbons three flea markets, along with the newer ''Feira do Relógio'' and ''Feira das Galinheiras''. History Originally known as the ''Mercado Franco de Lisboa'' (''Lisbon free market'') the fair first took place in 1272 just below São Jorge Castle gate at the ''Rua do Chão da Feira''.
