Raminta Popovienė
Raminta Popovienė (born May 5, 1970 Zarasai) is a Lithuanian music educator and a politician from the Social Democratic Party of Lithuania. She has been a member of Seimas since 2012. Early life Born in Zarasai on 5 May 1970, Raminta Popovienė did her schooling at the Ąžuolas Gymnasium. She received her music teacher and choir conductor diploma from the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre (1988–94) and also holds a master's degree in music education. Career After completing her master's degree, Popovienė became a senior supervisor at the Lithuanian Academy of Music. From 2000 to 2007, she was a chief specialist at the Kaunas District Municipality's Department of Culture, Education and Sports. In 2007 she was appointed the Kaunas District Social Services Centre's director and was promoted to the post of deputy director of Administration of Kaunas District Municipality in 2011. Gintarė Skaistė () (born 4 August 1981) is a Lithuanian politician, Member of the Seimas for Panemunė constituency. On 7 December 2020, Skaistė was approved to be the Minister of Finance in the Šimonytė Cabinet. On 12 December 2024, Rimantas Šadžius succeeded Skaistė as Minister of Finance. Education and early career Skaistė graduated from Kaunas University of Technology in 2010, receiving a bachelor's degree in economics. Viktoras Pranckietis
Viktoras Pranckietis (born 26 July 1958) is a Lithuanian agronomist and politician. He was the speaker of the Seimas. Early life and education Pranckietis was born in Ruteliai village, near Tytuvėnai, in Kelmė District Municipality. He graduated from high school in Tytuvėnai in 1973 and continued studying there at an agricultural technical school, afterwards briefly working at a local farm as an agronomist. Between 1977 and 1982, Pranckietis studied at the Lithuanian Academy of Agriculture (now Aleksandras Stulginskis University), earning a degree in scientific agronomy. In 1998, he earned a doctoral degree in biomedicine. Pranckietis spent most of his career working at the Lithuanian Academy of Agriculture, starting as a research assistant, and later working as the dean of the faculty of agronomy. He has written numerous scientific papers, books and textbooks, specializing in gardening and acted as a consultant on the subject for numerous specialized TV shows in Lithuania. ... Raudondvaris
Raudondvaris is a town on the Nevėžis River in Kaunas district, Lithuania, west of Kaunas city municipality. History The town was first mentioned in Teutonic chronicles in 1392. The old castle was rebuilt after the Battle of Grunwald and became Grand Duke's property. In 1549 Grand Duke Sigismund II Augustus presented the castle to his wife, Barbara Radziwiłł. After her death the castle fell to ruin. A new Renaissance red brick palace, known as Raudondvaris Castle, was built in 1615 on the high bank of the Nevėžis River by the Radziwiłłs. The palace is surrounded by a park with a palm house (no longer in use). The residence was known for its remarkable fine arts collection, including paintings by Leonardo da Vinci, Caravaggio, Rubens and del Sarto. The palace belonged to the Tyszkiewicz family until the end of World War I, when it was converted into a shelter for children. Kėdainiai () is one of the oldest List of cities in Lithuania, cities in Lithuania. It is located north of Lithuania's second largest city Kaunas on the banks of the Nevėžis River. Kėdainiai were first mentioned in the 1372 Livonian Chronicle of Hermann de Wartberge, its population was 23,051. The Kėdainiai Old Town dates to the 17th century and many of its historical buildings were preserved. The town is the administrative centre of the Kėdainiai District Municipality.
