Ramfis Domínguez-Trujillo
Luis José Ramfis Rafael Domínguez-Trujillo, also known as Ramfis Domínguez-Trujillo (born 22 May 1970) is an American politician. Biography Domínguez-Trujillo is known for being the grandson of Dominican dictator Rafael Trujillo, who ruled the Dominican Republic from 1930 to 1961. He is the son of Trujillo's daughter, Angelita Trujillo and Luis José Domínguez Taveras, a retired Lieutenant Colonel of the Dominican Air Force. He is father to three daughters, all born in the United States. Domínguez-Trujillo went to high school in Miami and went on to study business administration and international and comparative studies. In 2016, he announced his intentions to become candidate for President of the Dominican Republic in 2020. ''Listín Diario'' (Lit. ''Small Daily List'') is one of the leading newspapers in the Dominican Republic, and the oldest still being published. History ''Listín Diario'' was founded as ''Listín Diario Marítimo'' on 1 August 1889 by Arturo Pellerano Alfau and Julian Atiles, two merchants who endeavored to inform the general public of the arrival and departure of merchant ships into Dominican ports. Soon after what began as a single page became a broadsheet newspaper, printed out of the Pellerano & Atiles offices in the Colonial Zone of Santo Domingo. The Venezuelan writer and poet Andrés Mata was its editor for a time. Pellerano Alfau served as editor and publisher of the newspaper until his death in the early 1930s. Angelita Trujillo (10 June 1939 – 21 August 2023) was a Dominican writer who was most known as the daughter of the former Dominican dictator Rafael Trujillo. Early life Angelita Trujillo was born María de los Ángeles del Sagrado Corazón de Jesús Trujillo Martínez on June 10, 1939 in the affluent Parisien suburb of Neuilly-sur-Seine, France. Daughter of the Dominican Republic dictator Rafael Trujillo and his third wife María de los Ángeles Martínez y Alba, known as la Españolita because of her Spanish origin, Trujillo enjoyed a privileged childhood. She was a special envoy of the Dominican government to the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom in 1953. Rafael Leónidas Trujillo Molina ( ; ; 24 October 1891 – 30 May 1961), nicknamed ''El Jefe'' (; "the boss"), was a Dominican military officer and dictator who ruled the Dominican Republic from August 1930 until Rafael Trujillo#Assassination, his assassination in May 1961.
