Ramdhanu - The Rainbow
''Ramdhanu'' ( en, The Rainbow) is a 2014 Bengali family drama film, adapted from Suchitra Bhattacharya's short story, Ramdhanu Rawng and directed by Nandita Roy & Shiboprosad Mukherjee, the directors of Icche, Muktodhara, Accident and Alik Sukh. The film has been produced by Windows and Jalan International Films. The film is presented by Atanu Raychaudhuri and released on 6 June 2014. The film has done well at the box office. The film has been cinematographed by Sirsha Ray and edited by Moloy Laha. The movie was remade in Malayalam as '' Salt Mango Tree''. Background The Indian Parliament passed ‘The Right to Education Act’ or RTE Act - on 4 August 2009. One of the issues addressed in that was of school interviews. Nandita Roy
Nandita Roy (born April 3, 1955) is an Indian filmmaker and screenwriter. She made her directorial debut with the film '' Icche'' (2011) along with her co-director Shiboprosad Mukherjee. The two have also directed ''Accident'', '' Muktodhara'', '' Alik Sukh'', '' Ramdhanu'', '' Bela Seshe'', '' Haami'', '' Praktan'' , '' Posto (film), Konntho, Gotro''. She has been a part of several projects and has worked with many renowned directors. Early life Nandita Roy was born on April 3, 1955 in Mumbai. She attended high school at St. Joseph's Convent High School in the suburb of Vile Parle, and is an economics graduate of Parle College. Chitra Sen
Chitra Sen is an Indian actress and dancer who works in Bengali language films and television series. She has worked mainly in theatres, but she has also worked in films and on television. She started her career under Jnyanesh Mukhopadhyay. She has also worked with Rabi Ghosh. In '' Swapnasandhani'', she has worked with her son Kaushik Sen. Rituparno Ghosh
Rituparno Ghosh (31 August 1963 – 30 May 2013) was an Indian film director, actor, writer and lyricist. After pursuing a degree in economics, he started his career as a creative artist at an advertising agency. He received recognition for his second feature film '' Unishe April'' which won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film. Having won 19 National Awards, along with his contemporaries Aparna Sen and Goutam Ghose, Rituparno heralded contemporary Bengali cinema to greater heights.
