Mythily Ramaswamy
Mythily Ramaswamy (born 6 June 1954) is an Indian mathematician and professor in the Department of Mathematics at the TIFR Centre for Applicable Mathematics of the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research in Bangalore. Her research involves functional analysis and controllability of partial differential equations. Education Ramaswamy was born near Mumbai, to a banking family, but moved often to other parts of India as a child. She obtained her doctorate in 1990 from Pierre and Marie Curie University in Paris. Gunasegaran Ramasamy
On 2 October 2001, 28-year-old Soh San (), who was a manager of a telecommunications company, was found dead with her body stuck between the lift doors of her flat in Bukit Batok. She had sustained several knife wounds to her chest and abdomen. Soh's death remained unsolved for the next 12 years until a 28-year-old man surrendered himself and confessed to having stabbed Soh nine times during a robbery. The suspect, Gunasegaran Ramasamy, was 16 years old when he committed the crime, and he had gone to jail several times for unrelated offences before and after the murder of Soh San. Gunasegaran was originally charged with murder, but he eventually pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of robbery with hurt. Rathakrishnan Ramasamy
On 20 September 1981, Kalingam Mariappan, a 45-year-old boilerman, was last seen entering a lorry with two men, after the three of them had drinks, and by a third man at the coffee shop. He was missing for two days before his wife reported him missing. The two men last seen with Kalingam were eventually brought in for questioning by the police, and one of them admitted that Kalingam was dead and they were responsible for assaulting him and setting his body on fire. Kalingam's body was later found at the East Coast Parkway, and the two suspects – 22-year-old lorry driver Ramu Annadavascan and 16-year-old news vendor Rathakrishnan Ramasamy – were both charged with murder.
