William Ramallo
Wílliam Luis Ramallo Fernández (born 4 July 1963) is a retired football striker who was nicknamed ''El Pescador del Área'', or ''El Fantasma''. He is currently the assistant coach for the Bolivia national football team. Club career Ramallo was born in Cochabamba. He played for Oriente Petrolero at the time of his international appearances. International career He was capped 36 times and scored 11 international goals for Bolivia between 1989 and 1997. He played all three matches at the 1994 FIFA World Cup and he was also the starting forward in every group game. He represented his country in 15 FIFA World Cup qualification matches. Saint Francis Xavier Church of Ramallo (in Spanish: Parroquia San Francisco Javier) is an Argentine Catholic church located in the town of Ramallo, province of Buenos Aires. History The parish of Ramallo was inaugurated on February 18, 1878, being appointed to the post of Vicar priest Domingo Tomatis, of the order of the Salesians. Originally this church was erected to house the rural community of the area, being also the church of the Irish Catholics, who had settled in the northern towns of the province of Buenos Aires since 1840. Ramallo Massacre
The Ramallo massacre occurred on September 17, 1999, in Villa Ramallo, in northern Buenos Aires Province, Argentina, when three armed robbers broke into the local offices of the Banco de la Nación Argentina, taking six hostages. After several hours, they tried to escape in a car, using the bank manager and an accountant as human shields, and holding the manager's wife. A few meters ahead, a special group of the provincial police, the GEO, killed one of the suspects and the two hostages. Another suspect, Martín Saldaña, was found hanged in his cell just hours after the massacre; though it was assumed that he had committed suicide, in January 2007 new research showed that he had been murdered, possibly by first hitting him in the head, rendering him unconscious, and then strangling him.
