Raju Shetti
Devappa Anna Shetti (known as Raju Shetti) () is an Indian Politician and former Member of Parliament of India from Hatkanangle constituency in the 16th Lok Sabha. He is the president of the Swabhimani Paksha, the political party which he founded in 2004, after separating from the Shetkari Sanghatana. He also founded Swabhimani Shetkari Saghtana. Personal life Raju Shetti was born in Shirol, a tehsil in Kolhapur district of Maharashtra to a Digambar Jain family, on 1 June 1967. He is the son of Anna Shetti and Ratna Bai Shetti. He did his SSC,10th Pass Bagani Highschool Bagani, Dist- Sangli In Year 1983-84, Kolhapur. He is married to Sangeeta Shetti and has a son. Career Raju Shetti was associated with Sharad Joshi's ''Shetkari Sanghatana'' (Farmer's Organization), but due to some disputes with the organization, he formed a new organization named, '' Swabhimani Shetkari Saghtana''. Hatkanangle (Lok Sabha Constituency)
Hatkanangle Lok Sabha constituency is one of the 48 Lok Sabha (parliamentary) constituencies in Maharashtra state in western India. This constituency was dissolved as a part of the implementation of delimitation in 1976. This constituency again came into existence in 2008 as a part of the implementation of delimitation of parliamentary constituencies based on the recommendations of the Delimitation Commission of India constituted on 12 July 2002. Vidhan Sabha segments from Sangli and Kolhapur districts have formed this new constituency. As of 2024, the eligible voters are 18,14,277. Pratibha Devisingh Patil (born 19 December 1934), also known as Pratibha Patil Shekhawat, is an Indian politician and lawyer who served as the president of India from 2007 to 2012. She was the first woman to become the president of India. A member of the Indian National Congress, she also served as the Governor of Rajasthan from 2004 to 2007, and was a member of the Lok Sabha from 1991 to 1996. 2014 Indian General Election
General elections were held in India in nine phases from 7 April to 12 May 2014 to elect the members of the 16th Lok Sabha. With 834 million registered voters, they were the largest-ever elections in the world until being surpassed by the 2019 Indian general election, 2019 election. Around 23.1 million or 2.71% of the total eligible voters were aged 18–19 years. A total of 8,251 candidates contested the 543 elected Lok Sabha seats.
