Ghumarwin is a town and a municipal council, near the town of Bilaspur in Bilaspur district in the North Indian State of Himachal Pradesh and is the second largest town of the entire district. The town is an anchor point for commuters between Bilaspur and Hamirpur and other parts of the state. Situated primarily between the Hills of Lower Central Himalayas, Ghumarwin is situated at an average elevation of 700 metres or about 2300 ft. above sea level. It is one of the biggest commercial centres of Bilaspur District and one can find all kinds of shops, stores, services etc. here. It has become a major cultural and educational hub of Bilaspur and is a rapidly emerging city located on a sharp small rivulet Seer Khud's bank in a small valley which diverts towards Bilaspur city. Rajinder Garg
Rajinder Garg (born 30 May 1966) is an Indian horticulturalist and politician who has served in the Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly since 2017, representing the Ghumarwin Assembly constituency, Ghumarwin constituency. A member of the Bharatiya Janata Party, Garg has served as the state's Jai Ram Thakur ministry, Minister of Food, Civil Supplies, and Consumer Affairs since 2020. Biography Rajinder Garg was born on 30 May 1966 in the village of Thandora in Himachal Pradesh. Garg attended Himachal Pradesh University and Jiwaji University, receiving a master's degree in botany from the latter in 1990. After graduating, Garg worked as a horticulturalist and businessman. In 1982, Garg became a member of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, a Hindu nationalist paramilitary group. Bilaspur is a district of Himachal Pradesh, India. Its capital is in the town of Bilaspur. The district has an area of 1,167 km2, and a population of 381,956. As of 2011 it is the third least populous district of Himachal Pradesh (out of 12), after Lahul and Spiti and Kinnaur. The district has the famous Govind Sagar Lake on the Sutlej River which acts as the reservoir for the Bhakra and Nangal Dam project. History The area that is now Bilaspur District was formerly known as Kahlur, a princely state of British India.
