Located on the Arabian Sea, the village is 10 km from the district capital, Nagercoil. It is the main village in the Rajakkamangalam Grama panchayat. Etymology Rajakkamangalam thurai is named after a pathway in the village that was used by local rulers to travel between Travancore and the Vaddakottai Palace. The village came to be called Rajakkal-Mangalam. Later it became Rajakkamangalam. When the Kanyakumari District joined Tamil Nadu, the village became Rajakkamangalam Thurai. Kanyakumari District
Kanniyakumari district is one of the 38 districts in Tamil Nadu state and the southernmost district in mainland India. Nagercoil
Nagercoil, also spelt as Nagarkovil ("Temple of the Nāgas", or Nagaraja-Temple), is a city and the administrative headquarters of Kanyakumari District in Tamil Nadu state, India. Situated close to the tip of the Indian peninsula, it lies on an undulating terrain between the Western Ghats and the Arabian Sea. Nagercoil Corporation is the 12th biggest city of Tamil Nadu. The present city of Nagercoil grew around Kottar, a mercantile town that dates back to the Sangam period. Kottar is now a locality within the city limits. The Kingdom of Travancore ( /ˈtrævənkɔːr/), also known as the Kingdom of Thiruvithamkoor, was an Indian kingdom from c. 1729 until 1949. Paravar (also known as Bharathar or Bharathakula and sometimes colloquially as 'Fernando') is a Tamil maritime community, mainly living in the state of Tamil Nadu in India and in Sri Lanka. Pandyas aka Bharathavars are the Ancient Sea Farers and Kings who established First Kingdom (first of its kind) in the world. Nazarene Soosai
Nazarene Soosai (born ) is a Roman Catholic Bishop who is currently serving as the Bishop of Kottar diocese. He is the sixth bishop of Kottar diocese. Early life Nazarene Soosai was born to Soosi and Panipitchai as their 8th child on 13 April 1963, at Rajakkamangalam Thurai of Kanyakumari district in Tamil Nadu. He was baptized on 18 April 1963. He completed his studies from St. Aloysius Seminary Minor Seminary of Nagercoil, Sacred Heart Seminary in Poonamallee.
