Raja Venugopal Naik
Raja Venugopal Naik (born 1982) is an Indian politician from Karnataka. He is a member of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly from Shorapur Assembly constituency representing Indian National Congress. Early life Naik is from Surpur, which is also called Shorapur, in Yadgir district. His late father Raja Venkatappa Naik was a four time MLA from Shorapur. After his death in February 2024, Venugopal Naik won the by election in June 2024. Career Naik became an MLA for the first time in June 2024. The Karnataka Legislative Assembly (formerly the Mysore Legislative Assembly) is the lower house of the bicameral legislature of the southern Indian state of Karnataka. Karnataka is one of the six states in India where the state legislature is bicameral, comprising two houses: the '' Vidhan Sabha'' (lower house) and the '' Vidhan Parishad'' (upper house). There are 224 Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) and are directly elected by people through adult franchise. ''Vartha Bharati''. also spelled as ''Vartha Bharathi'', is a Kannada daily newspaper published simultaneously from Bangalore, Mangalore and Shimoga. It was launched in August 2003. It is one of nine state level Kannada daily newspapers of Karnataka, as recognised by the Information and Public Relations Department, Government of Karnataka.
