Raja Rishi
''Raja Rishi'' is a 1985 Indian Tamil-language Hindu mythological film written and directed by K. Shankar. The film stars Sivaji Ganesan, Prabhu, M. N. Nambiar and Nalini. It is based on the play ''Viswamithran'' by A. S. Prakasam, which is about the sage Vishvamitra. The film was released on 20 September 1985, and failed at the box office. Plot The film narrates the story of Vishwamitra in a linear manner right from him being the King, his run-in with Vasishta over Kamadhenu cow leading him to take a vow that he too would become a brahmarishi like Vasishta. He faces hurdle after hurdle placed in his path by Devendran. In the process, he falls in love, impregnates and abandons Menaka. Their daughter Shakuntala is brought up by another rishi. She falls in love with Dushyanta who is cursed to forget her by Durvasa. When Vishwamitra finds out about this, he goes on to fix her life and in the process learns humility. Sivaji Ganesan
Villupuram. Chinnaiya Manrayar Ganesamoorthy (1 October 1928 – 21 July 2001), better known by his stage name Sivaji Ganesan, was an Indian actor and film producer. He was mainly active in Tamil cinema during the latter half of the 20th century. Sivaji Ganesan is acknowledged as one of the greatest Indian actors of all time and among the most imitated one by other actors. He was known for his versatility and the variety of roles he depicted on screen, which also gave him the Tamil nickname ''Nadigar Thilagam'' (). Tirumala Sundara Sri Ranganath (17 July 1946 – 19 December 2015) was an Indian actor known for his works primarily in Telugu cinema, Telugu Theater, television, and a few Tamil films. Srikanth (19 March 1940 – 12 October 2021) was an Indian actor who has performed in around 200 Tamil films since his debut in 1965. He is also referred to as Vennira Aadai Srikanth. He has played the lead hero in around 50 films between 1965 and 1979 and has also played supporting roles in films with actors Sivaji Ganesan, Muthuraman, Ravichandran and Jaishankar in the lead roles. In the late seventies to early nineties, he appeared as a villain opposite actors including Sivakumar, Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan. Tilottama (), is an apsara (celestial nymph) described in Hindu mythology. "Tila" is a Sanskrit word for a small particle and "uttama" means the ultimate.
