Landhaura
Landhaura is a town and a nagar panchayat in Haridwar district in the Indian state of Uttarakhand. History Gurjars were present in that area earlier than 6th century. They were initially employed as Chaukidars of small villages of Doab as to protect the peasants from attacks of war bands of more powerful villages in their neighbourhood. Later rulers of this region employed them for purpose of police and revenue collection. So after gaining strength and confidence of villagers, Gurjars settled on depopulated sites and even seized some old villages for themselves. Landhaura estate was established by a Gurjar chieftain of Khubar clan. It took its name from person named Latur who migrated here after rest of his family was killed by someone, it later became Latura and over time changed to Landhaura. Pradyumna Shah
Pradyumna Shah or Pradyuman Shah, also known as Pradyumna Chand, was the 54th ruler of the Panwar Dynasty and the last independent monarch of the Kingdom of Garhwal. Before that he had also served as the Raja of the Kingdom of Kumaon until he was defeated and expelled. He reigned over Garhwal from 1785 to 14 May 1804, until his defeat to the Gurkha forces after the Battle of Khurbura occurred near Dehradun. Background and life Maharaja Pradyuman was possibly placed on the throne from 1785 to 1804. Before ruling the Garhwal, he was enthroned as the Raja of Kumaon from 1779 to 1785. Battle Of Khurbura
Battle of Khurbura or Battle of Khudbuda also known as Gorkha-Garhwal War occurred in May 1804 near modern-day village of Dehradun, Khurbura . The battle is regarded as the first major attack in the history of Garhwal Kingdom that triggered between Kingdom of Nepal forces and Maharaja Pradyumna Shah, and continued for 13 days until the Garhwal king was defeated. It is chiefly regarded the only defeat of Pradyumna Shah's life and the victory of Gorkhali forces under Kingdom of Nepal.
