Raina Perez
Raina Perez (born July 30, 1998) is an American professional basketball player who is a free agent in the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). She played college basketball at NC State, Cal State Fullerton, and Northern Arizona. College career Northern Arizona During her freshman season, Perez was one of four players on the team to appear in every game. She averaged 10.1 points, 2.1 rebounds, and 2.3 assists. At the end of the year, Perez was the top scoring freshman in the conference. Following her freshman season, Perez decided to transfer to Cal State Fullerton. Cal State Fullerton Perez spent three years at Cal State Fullerton. She redshirted during the 2017–2018 season due to NCAA Transfer rules. During the 2018–2019 season, Perez was named to the All-Big West Honorable Mention Team. She tied for the team lead in scoring at 13.0 points, while also adding in 5.0 assists and 1.5 steals. Women's National Basketball Association
The Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) is an American professional basketball league. It is composed of twelve teams, all based in the United States. The league was founded on April 22, 1996, as the women's counterpart to the National Basketball Association (NBA), and league play started in 1997. The regular season is played from May to September, with the All Star game being played midway through the season in July (except in Olympic years) and the WNBA Finals at the end of September until the beginning of October. Five WNBA teams have direct NBA counterparts and normally play in the same arena. They play in the same arena as funding is sparse due to lack of spectators. 2020–21 NC State Wolfpack Women's Basketball Team
The 2020–21 NC State Wolfpack women's basketball team represented North Carolina State University during the 2020–21 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The Wolfpack were led by eighth year head coach Wes Moore and played their home games at Reynolds Coliseum as members of the Atlantic Coast Conference. The Wolfpack finished the season 22–3 and 12–2 in ACC play to finish in second place. They won the ACC tournament defeating Virginia Tech, Georgia Tech, and Louisville along the way to their title. It was NC State's sixth title in school history. As ACC Tournament Champions, they received an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament where they were the one seed in the Mercado Regional. 2022 Seattle Storm Season
The 2022 Seattle Storm season was the franchise's 23rd season in the Women's National Basketball Association. This was the first season back in the newly renovated Climate Pledge Arena. On June 16, 2022, Sue Bird announced that this season would be her final one and that she would be retiring after the season. The Storm started the season with an opening day win, but went on to lose their next three games. They turned their fortunes around after the three game losing streak, and went on a four-game winning streak to end the month of May 5–3. June started with two straight losses, but then the team won four games straight. They won three of their last five games to finish June 7–4. They started July strong, losing one of their first six games in the month. The end of the month saw the team only get two wins out of six games, with five of those six games being on the road. 2022 WNBA Season
The 2022 WNBA season was the 26th season of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). The Chicago Sky were the defending champions. The WNBA's second Commissioner's Cup took place during the regular season, with the Las Vegas Aces winning over the Sky. In the playoffs, the Aces were the first seed and won the Finals over the Connecticut Sun. The regular season was expanded to 36 games per team, is the most games scheduled in a single WNBA season. A 36-game season was originally scheduled for 2020, but the plan was scrapped due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This season also marked the return of an all-series playoffs, which was last used in 2015, instead of the prior schedule of two rounds of single-elimination games and byes for the higher seeded teams.
