Ramon Pelegero Sanchis, who takes the stage name of Raimon (), is a Spanish singer. He performs in the musical style of Nova Cançó, and in the Catalan language. Biography Youth Raimon was born in Xàtiva in the province of Valencia, Spain on December 2, 1940, at ''el carrer Blanc'' (White Street), which he references in some songs. In his youth he worked for several years as a radio broadcaster in his hometown, absorbing the music of artists as diverse as Juliette Gréco, The Platters, and Juanito Valderrama. At age 21, he moved to Valencia in order to study history. It was there that he discovered Catalan culture, and read writers such as Ausiàs March, Salvador Espriu, Josep Pla, and Joan Fuster, among others. Raimo Kilpiö
Raimo Olavi Kilpiö (born 2 February 1936 in Parikkala, Finland) is a retired professional ice hockey player who played 459 games in the SM-liiga and its predecessor SM-sarja from 1953 to 1977. During his career he scored 261 goals and 492 points. He played for Ilves, RU-38, and Ässät. He is a six-time Finnish Champion and once won the bronze medal. He competed at the 1960 Winter Olympics and the 1964 Winter Olympics. He was inducted into the Finnish Hockey Hall of Fame in 1985. Career Kilpiö made his SM-sarja debut with Ilves during the 1953–54 season. Kilpiö was one of the best forward stars of his time. Among other things, he was chosen four times as the best forward in the SM-sarja. Raimo Vistbacka
Raimo Viljam Vistbacka (born 19 October 1945 in Kauhava) is a Finnish politician and former member of the Finnish Parliament. Vistbacka has a master's degree in law ('' varatuomari'') and he was the rural police chief (''nimismies'') in Alajärvi in 1982–1996. He was first elected to the parliament in 1987, representing the Finns Party's predecessor, the Finnish Rural Party. When the Finns Party was founded in 1995, Vistbacka became the party's first MP. He retired from the parliament in April 2011. In 2010 Vistbacka said that he hopes that the Finns Party will not have more than 10–14 MPs (the total number of MPs in Finland is 200). Raimo Sirkiä (born February 7, 1951, in Finland) is a Finnish operatic tenor whose repertoire ranges from spinto to dramatic. The musical education or Raimo Sirkiä began at the age of four. He was the Finnish Champion in accordion four times, 1960, 1961, 1962 and 1964. He studied music pedagogics and voice at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki, and in Rome with Gavarrini and Morelli. He won the prestigious Timo Mustakallio award for young opera singers in 1981. Raimo Sirkiä performed mainly in Germany from 1983 to 2001. He was the principal tenor at the Finnish National Opera from 1990 to 2006. Raimo Aas (born 18 June 1953 in Tallinn) is an Estonian humorist. Radio career Raimo Aas performed together with Margus Lepa in the Sunday morning radio programme Meelejahutaja for several years. Performance prohibition Aas was subject to a six-month Soviet prohibition of public performance for singing, on the tune of Pust' vsegda budet solnce (Russian for "May there always be sunshine"; et, Olgu jääv meile päike), lyrics that can be translated as "May there always be sunshine, may there always be smoked sausages". Raimo Sakari Tuomainen (born 25 November 1957 in Nilsiä, Finland) is a Finnish health sociologist and one of the authorities in so called Kuopio discipline, which emphasizes the need to control the expansion of medicalization in Western countries. Raimo Ilaskivi (born 26 May 1928 in Ruokolahti) is a Finnish politician. He holds a doctorate degree in political science from the University of Helsinki and has also studied in the United States and in the United Kingdom. He was born as ''Raimo Hämäläinen'' but changed his surname to ''Ilaskivi'' in 1947. Ilaskivi is best known as the Lord Mayor of Helsinki from 1979 to 1991.
