''Railway Platform'' is a 1955 Indian film about a love triangle between a princess, a poor man and his lover at a train station. The film marked the debut of Sunil Dutt, who was a popular announcer for Radio Ceylon before he made his breakthrough in ''Mother India'' (1957). Ramesh Saigal
Ramesh Saigal was an Indian film director, producer, screenwriter and actor in Hindi language films. Professional life His major work includes ''Railway Platform'' (1955), ''Shola Aur Shabnam'' (1961) and ''Ishq Par Zor Nahin'' (1970). He was instrumental in giving veteran actor Sunil Dutt a break in the film Railway Platform (1955) when Sunil Dutt was hosting the show, Lipton Ki Mehfil on Radio Ceylon. While covering the Dilip Kumar movie Shikast in 1953, Dutt met director Ramesh Saigal, who impressed by his personality and voice, offered him a role in his upcoming movie. Syed Ishtiaq Ahmed Jaffrey (29 March 1939 – 8 July 2020), better known by his stage name Jagdeep, was an Indian actor and comedian who appeared in more than 400 films. He played Soorma Bhopali in '' Sholay'' (1975), Machchar in '' Purana Mandir'' (1983), Salman Khan's dad in '' Andaz Apna Apna'' (1994) and directed the movie '' Soorma Bhopali'', with his character as the protagonist. Shiv Dayal Batish (better known as S.D. Batish; 14 December 1914 – 29 July 2006) was an Indian singer and music director born in Patiala, India. He died in Santa Cruz, California, USA where he had lived since 1970. Career Shiv was a composer, playback singer and music director for Bollywood music. He broadcast his first radio program in 1936, from the studios of All India Radio, Delhi. He scored music for a number of early Bollywood movies such as ''Betab, Bahu Beti, Karwat 1949, Toofan, Haar jeet 1954, Tipu Sultan 1959, Hum Bhi Kuch Kam Nahin, Amar Keertan'', and ''Zalim Tera Jawab Naheen''. Mohammed Rafi (24 December 1924 – 31 July 1980) was an Indian playback singer and musician. He is considered to have been one of the greatest and most influential singers of the Indian subcontinent.
