Rahman Ismail
Rahman bin Ismail is a Malaysian politician, social activist, and medical doctor. He is the former Member of Parliament (MP) for the Gombak constituency, serving from 2004 to 2008. He is a member of the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO), a major component party in the Barisan Nasional (BN) coalition. He founded and is currently the chairman of Gabungan NGO, the NGO Gombak, a mixed confederation of 153 smaller NGOs in Gombak. He is also a member of the Academy of Medicine of Malaysia. Education Rahman, a former Sultan Alam Shah School student, studied medicine at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, Universiti Malaya, Johns Hopkins University, Pasteur Institute, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta, United States. Career Rahman is a vaccinologist, epidemiologist, and clinical trialist.
