Rah Rah (band)
Rah Rah was an indie rock musical group formed in 2006 in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada. They toured extensively across North America and Europe. The band released four full-length albums, including 2015's ''Vessels''. After a three-year hiatus, the band played three final live shows in December of 2019 and disbanded. History The group formed as a three piece in 2006 made up of Erin Passmore (drums/vocals), Kyrie Kristmanson (trumpet/guitar/vocals) and Marshall Burns (guitar/vocals). In 2006 they released the ''Songs for Pasquala EP'' independently. That same year the band performed at the Regina Folk Festival as well as Pop Montreal. By 2007 Joel Passmore (formerly of Despistado and Sylvie) had joined the band on bass along with Samra Sahlu on keyboards and Kristina Hedlund on violin. Rah-rah Skirt
The rah-rah (or ra-ra) skirt is a short flounced layered skirt that originated in cheerleading and became a popular fashion trend among teenage girls in the early 1980s. As such it marked, as the ''Oxford Dictionary'' noted, the first successful attempt to revive the miniskirt that had been introduced in the mid-1960s. It was created by Angela Stone and Gifi Fields, who based the idea on creating a tutu out of heavier fabric. Later in the 1980s it was often worn with leather, denim or lace. In the 1990s the mini came back into fashion in its own right, largely discarding the frills of the rah-rah. Eventually, the latter did return again in Britain in 2008: "Eighties look is all the ra-rave". Examples of the rah-rah were to be seen on the covers of music albums such as ''Since Yesterday'' by Strawberry Switchblade (1984). ''Apthamitra'' () is a 2004 Indian Kannada-language horror film directed by P. Vasu, and stars Vishnuvardhan, Soundarya and Ramesh Arvind in the lead roles with Prema, Dwarakish and Avinash in supporting roles. This was Soundarya's last film in her career which ended with two posthumous releases - the other being the Telugu movie '' Shiva Shankar'' which released few days before ''Apthamitra''. The movie is a loosely based on the 1993 Malayalam classic film '' Manichithrathazhu'' with a few scenes borrowed from the 1997 Malayalam film ''Aaraam Thampuran''. The film was released on 27 August 2004 to highly positive reviews. It ran for one year in the main theaters across Karnataka and was one of the highest-grossing films of the year. ''Chandramukhi'' () is a 2005 Indian Tamil-language comedy horror film written and directed by P. Vasu. A remake of Vasu's Kannada film '' Apthamitra'' (2004), which itself loosely based on the Malayalam film '' Manichitrathazhu'' (1993), the film stars Rajinikanth, Prabhu, Jyothika, Nayanthara and Vadivelu with an ensemble supporting cast. It revolves around a woman, who suffers from dissociative identity disorder that affects a family, and a psychiatrist who intends to solve the case while risking his life. ''Chandramukhi'' was produced by Prabhu and his brother Ramkumar Ganesan through their company Sivaji Productions, and is the company's 50th film. The soundtrack album and background score were composed by Vidyasagar. Cinematography was handled by Sekhar V. Joseph and editing was done by Suresh Urs.
