Ragnarök Festival
Ragnarök Festival is a pagan metal music festival, festival held annually in Germany since 2004 founded by Ivo Raab. It started out as a small, one-night festival with only regional bands in the town hall of Hollfeld. In 2005 it was decided to go for a festival featuring mostly viking metal, Viking and pagan metal with the booking of bands like Månegarm, Menhir (band), Menhir, Eisregen and Equilibrium (band), Equilibrium. From 2006 on the festival took place in the significantly bigger town hall of Lichtenfels, Bavaria. History The Ragnarök Metal Festival was founded by Ivo Raab in 2004. The festival's first edition featured seven bands, mostly death metal, and about 120 visitors. It did not pay off, but Raab decided to give it another try and organized it again in 2005. Lichtenfels () is a Town#Germany, town in the Upper Franconian region of Bavaria, Germany, the administrative seat of Lichtenfels (district), Lichtenfels district. Carpathian Forest
Carpathian Forest is a Norwegian black metal band formed by Nattefrost and Nordavind in 1992. They are known for their unique style of black metal, often categorised as black 'n' roll and includes a prominent, clanky bass tone and lyrics that revolve around BDSM, perversion, misanthropy, death and suicide. History In late 1990, the band originally started under the name Enthrone by Nattefrost (then bearing the pseudonym Lord Nosferatu) and Nordavind (who used the pseudonym Lord Karnstein). Ava Inferi
Ava Inferi was a Portuguese gothic metal band formed in Almada by Norwegian guitarist and songwriter Rune Eriksen (a.k.a. Blasphemer, Mayhem). Their debut album, '' Burdens'', was released in January 2006. In the spring of 2007, vocalist Carmen Susana Simões laid vocals on the re-recording '' Under Satanæ'' by Moonspell. In October 2007, the band released their second studio album, called '' The Silhouette''. In May 2009, the band released their third album, '' Blood of Bacchus''. Imperium Dekadenz is a German black metal band formed in 2004. The band name is inspired by the 1979 film Caligula. The band members were fascinated by the violence and decadence portrayed in the film, as well as the pride in the Roman Empire it portrayed. History Pascal "Vespasian" Vannier and Christian "Horaz" Jakob met in 2004 when Vespasian was looking for a ride to Wacken and Horaz offered him a seat in his car. During the car ride, Horaz played Vespasian from his demo tape Ax and the idea of making music together came up. Arkona () is a Russian folk metal band. Their lyrics are heavily influenced by Folklore of Russia, Russian folklore and Slavic mythology, and their music incorporates several traditional Russian musical instruments. The name of the band "Arkona" refers to the last Pre-Christianized Slavic Jaromarsburg, city-castle. Adorned Brood is a German folk metal, folk black metal band from Neuss, Germany. History (1993–2006) After the foundation in 1993, Adorned Brood recorded two demo tapes. They signed a contract to Germany, German music label Folter Records. They recorded their first two albums ''Hiltia'' and ''Wigand (album), Wigand in'' 1996 and 1998 respectively. Only 1,000 copies of each album were released. They later signed a contract with Moonstorm Records and released their third album, ''Asgard (album), Asgard'', in 2000. Lead singer Erik Hecht from the band Subway to Sally joined Adorned Brood for their fourth album, ''Erdenkraft'', in 2000.
