Rafał Wilk (born 9 December 1974 in Łańcut) is a Paralympic Handcycle, handcyclist and former Motorcycle speedway, speedway rider from Poland. Career Wilk won two gold medals at the 2012 Summer Paralympics in London.London 2012 site /ref> Now he is a handcyclist but he used to be a professional speedway rider. He started doing sports in 1991, at the age of 12. On 3 May 2006, Rafal Wilk had an accident during a speedway meeting in Krosno. Łańcut
Łańcut (, ; ; ) is a town in south-eastern Poland, with 18,004 inhabitants, as of 2 June 2009. Situated in the Subcarpathian Voivodeship (since 1999), it is the Capital (political), capital of Łańcut County. History Archeological investigations carried out in the region of Łańcut confirm the existence of human settlements from about 4000 years B.C. The first owner of the town was Otton (''z Pilczy'') Pilecki, who was given the Łańcut estate by the List of Polish monarchs, Polish king, Casimir III the Great, in 1349, as a reward for his service. At the same time, the king also granted Łańcut its Town privileges, city rights according to Magdeburg rights, Magdeburg law. In 1381 Łańcut was officially named a ‘town’ for the first time, by Otton Pilecki, in the foundation charter of the town. Łańcut remained under the ownership of the Pilecki family up to 1586. 2015 UCI Para-cycling Road World Championships
The 2015 UCI Para-cycling Road World Championships were sixth edition of the World Championships for road cycling for athletes with a physical disability. The Championships took place on the roads of Nottwil in Switzerland from 29 July to 2 August 2015. Italy were the most successful team of the competition in number of gold medals won (9), while Germany finished with the greatest total of medals (21). The Paralympic Games or Paralympics is a periodic series of international multisport events involving athletes with a range of disabilities. There are Winter and Summer Paralympic Games, which since the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul, South Korea, have been held shortly after the corresponding Olympic Games. All Paralympic Games are governed by the International Paralympic Committee (IPC). The Paralympics began as a small gathering of British World War II veterans in 1948.
