Rafał Dobrucki
Rafał Dobrucki (born 27 December 1976 Poland) is a Polish former speedway rider. He earned four international caps for the Poland speedway team. Career On 25 July 1999 he won the Continental Final, which formed part of the 2000 Speedway Grand Prix Qualification. He went on to qualify as a permanent rider for the 2000 Speedway Grand Prix. In 2003, he won the Polish pairs title. He rode in the British leagues after joining the Oxford Silver Machine in 2004. Poland Speedway Team
The Poland national speedway team is the national motorcycle speedway team of Poland and is controlled by the Polish Motor Union ( PZM). They are one of the most successful speedway nations of all time. History The Polish speedway team participated in the inaugural Speedway World Team Cup, being seeded through to the final of the 1960 Speedway World Team Cup. The team were a major force in the opening decade of the tournament, winning the World Team Cup in 1961, 1965, 1966 and 1969, with only the Swedish team winning more World Cups. In the 1970s, the team continued to be one of the major forces in Eastern Europe and qualified for the World Team Cup final every year from 1970 to 1979. The 1995 Speedway World Team Cup was the 36th edition of the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme, FIM Speedway World Team Cup to determine the team world champions. Speedway World Team Cup
The Speedway World Team Cup was an annual motorcycle speedway, speedway event held each year in different countries. The competition started in 1960 and was replaced with the Speedway World Cup in 2001. Format From 1960 until 1985, each team consisted of four riders and a reserve. A final meeting was held after qualifying rounds, the winner being decided on total points scored in that final meeting. In 1986, the teams that qualified for the 'final' raced three meetings, the winner of each meeting being awarded three points, second place awarded two points, and third place awarded a point. The total points gained over the three meetings determined the champion. In 1987, the three meeting system was used again, but this time the aggregate points scored by the individual riders were added together to determine the champion. 1988 saw the championship revert to the original format. The event was won by Jason Crump of Australia after winning a run-off against Daniel Andersson. The 1997 Speedway Grand Prix was the 52nd edition of the official World Championship. It was the third season in the Speedway Grand Prix era used to determine the Speedway World Champion. Greg Hancock from the United States became the World Champion with 118 points beating fellow American Billy Hamill into second place. The bronze medal went to Pole Tomasz Gollob. The Speedway Under-21 World Championship is an annual Motorcycle speedway, speedway event held each year organized by the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme, International Motorcycling Federation (FIM) since 1977.
