Rafał Antoniewski (born 3 December 1980) is a Polish chess grandmaster. Chess career Rafał Antoniewski was one of the top Polish junior. He is a three-time Polish Junior Chess Championship winner: 1995 (U16), 1996 (U16), and 1997 (U20). Twice took 4th place at the European Youth Chess Championship: 1994 (U14) and 1995 (U16). In 1996 was 12th in the World Junior Chess Championship (U16) in Menorca. In 2005 won Round-robin tournament in Solingen. In 2010 won Liechtenstein Open tournament. In 2014 was second in the Polish Blitz Chess Championship in Bydgoszcz Bydgoszcz is a city in northern Poland and the largest city in the historical region of Kuyavia. World Junior Chess Championship
The World Junior Chess Championship is an under-20 chess tournament (players must have been under 20 years old on 1 January in the year of competition) organized by the World Chess Federation (FIDE). The idea was the brainchild of William Ritson-Morry, who organized the 1951 inaugural event to take place in Birmingham, England. Subsequently, it was held every two years until 1973, when an annual schedule was adopted. In 1983, a separate tournament for girls was established. The first championship was an 11-round Swiss system tournament. In subsequent championships, the entrants were divided into sections, and preliminary sectional tournaments were used to establish graded finals sections (Final A, Final B, etc.).
