Rafael Consuegra
Rafael Consuegra (September 16, 1941 – September 17, 2021) was a Cuban-born American sculptor and ceramist who worked in the United States and Europe. Consuegra was born in Havana, Cuba. He left the island in 1960 and established residence in Miami, Florida, where he began his studies in architecture and engineering. As an art student, he was twice granted the Cintas fellowship from the International Institute of Education in New York, and obtained a Master of Arts Degree from the University of Miami in 1971. After teaching sculpture and design for a few years, Consuegra set his sights on creating, and established a studio in Barcelona. He quickly developed a reputation as a ceramist and sculptor, and exhibited widely throughout France, Spain, Denmark, Switzerland, Russia and Serbia. Marcos F. Pinedo is a Cuban–American art patron, collector, and art dealer who was an active figure in contributing to the establishment of the Cuban and Latin American art market in South Florida. He and his wife, Josefina Camacho Pinedo, own the Pinedo fine art collection of prominent Latin American and European art. Jesús A. Permuy (born 1935) is a Cuban-American architect, urban planner, human rights activist, art collector, and businessman. He is known for an extensive career of community projects and initiatives in Florida, Washington, D.C., and Latin America. Oscar Benjamin Cintas y Rodriguez, (31 Mar 1887 in Sagua la Grande, Cuba – 11 May 1957 in New York City, N.Y.) was a prominent sugar and railroad magnate who served as Cuba's ambassador to the United States from 1932 until 1934.
