Rafael Bash
Rafael Bash ( he, רפאל בש, 8 January 1913 – 10 March 2000) was an Israeli politician who served as a member of the first Knesset for three months in 1951. Biography Born in the Russian Empire in what is today Latvia, Bash made aliyah to Mandatory Palestine in 1938. He joined kibbutz Kfar Blum, where he remained a member until 1956. He was on the Mapai list for the 1949 Knesset election, but missed out on a seat. In 1950, he became director of Mapai's youth department, a position he held until 1953. Histadrut
Histadrut, or the General Organization of Workers in Israel, originally ( he, ההסתדרות הכללית של העובדים בארץ ישראל, ''HaHistadrut HaKlalit shel HaOvdim B'Eretz Yisrael''), is Israel's national trade union center and represents the majority of Israel's trade unionists. Established in December 1920 in Mandatory Palestine, it soon became one of the most powerful institutions in the Yishuv (the body of Jewish residents in the region prior to the establishment of the state). Yosef-Michael Lamm
Yosef-Michael Lamm (, 1899 – 25 May 1976) was an Israeli judge and politician who served as a member of the Knesset between 1949 and 1951. Biography Born in Galicia in Austria-Hungary, Lamm attended school and university in Vienna, where he studied international trade and law, and gained a doctorate in jurisprudence. Whilst a student, he joined the Austrian branch of Tzeiri Zion. After the German invasion of Austria in 1938 he was arrested and sent to Dachau concentration camp. However, in 1939 he left Austria and made aliyah to Mandatory Palestine. Legal and political career In 1944, he helped establish the New Working Immigration organisation, which consisted of immigrants from Germany and Austria. In the same year he became a member of the Assembly of Representatives and the Jewish National Council, which he served on until 1947, when he became the legal advisor on supply and prices to the Settlements Regulatory Authority.
