Rafael "Rafa" Ferreira de Souza, commonly known as Rafael "Rafa" Mineiro, (born June 3, 1988) is a Brazilian professional basketball player. He currently plays with the Flamengo team of the Novo Basquete Brasil, in Brazil. Power Forward (basketball)
The power forward (PF), also known as the four, is one of the five traditional Basketball positions, positions in a regulation basketball game. Traditionally, power forwards have played a role similar to center (basketball), centers and are typically the tallest or second tallest player on the court. 2017–18 NBB Season
The 2017–18 NBB season was the 9th season of the Novo Basquete Brasil, the Brazilian basketball league. Once again this tournament was organized entirely by the Liga Nacional de Basquete (LNB). The NBB also qualified teams for international tournaments such as Liga Sudamericana and FIBA Americas League. This season fifteen teams played each other in the regular season. At the end of the home and away matches round the top four teams qualified for the quarterfinals of the playoffs automatically, while the teams finishing in the 5th and 12th place participated in the first round of the playoffs to determine the other four teams in the quarterfinals, in a five-match series. This season maintained 16/17's playoff method of best of 5 games, played on the 1-2-1-1 format. For this season, the last regular season placed team is relegated to the 2019 Liga Ouro, the NBB's second tier division. 2016 South American Basketball Championship
The 2016 South American Basketball Championship was the 47th and last edition of the FIBA South American Basketball Championship. Ten teams participated in the competition, which was held in Caracas, Venezuela, from 26 June to 2 July 2016. The top five teams qualified for the 2017 FIBA AmeriCup and the top seven teams qualified for the 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup qualification. 2010 South American Basketball Championship
The 2010 South American Basketball Championship was the 44th edition of the South American Basketball Championship. Eight teams featured the competition, held in Neiva, Colombia from 26 to July 31 in the Coliseo Álvaro Sánchez Silva. Argentina was the defending champion, but lost in the final to Brazil. The first three places qualified for the basketball tournament at the 2011 Pan American Games and to the 2011 FIBA Americas Championship, the latter of which doubled as the FIBA Americas qualifier for the 2012 Olympics. Because Argentina, which automatically qualified for the FIBA Americas Championship as host, finished in an automatic qualifying spot, the fourth-place team was also invited to that competition. The fifth-place team did not initially qualify for that competition, but was later invited once the United States withdrew from that event because it had qualified for the Olympics by winning the 2010 FIBA World Championship. The South American Basketball Championship, or FIBA South American Championship, was the main FIBA tournament for men's national teams from South America's region of FIBA Americas. The 2012–13 NBB season was the fifth edition of Novo Basquete Brasil, the Brazilian basketball league. This tournament is organized entirely by the Liga Nacional de Basquete (LNB). The NBB serves as a qualifying competition for international tournaments such as Liga Sudamericana and Torneo InterLigas. For this season the qualify for the FIBA Americas League came to be through the Liga Sudamericana. This season has a record number of participating teams, with eighteen teams playing each other in round and second round in the regular season. At the end of two rounds the top four teams qualify for the quarterfinals of the playoffs automatically, while the teams finishing in the 5th and 12th place participated in the first round of the playoffs to determine the other four teams in the quarterfinals, best of five matches, advances to the next phase who win three games. The Basketball Champions League Americas (BCLA) ( Spanish: ''Liga de Campeones de Baloncesto de las Américas'', Portuguese: ''Liga dos Campeões de Basquetebol das Américas'') is Pan-America's premier men's basketball club competition. Founded in 2019, it replaced the FIBA Americas League as the highest level league in the Americas. The winner of each year's competition qualifies to the annual FIBA Intercontinental Cup.
