Bishop Radosław Zmitrowicz, Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate, O.M.I. (; ; born 2 September 1962 in Wrzeszcz, Gdańsk, Poland) is a Polish-born Ukrainian Roman Catholic prelate, who serves as an Auxiliary bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Kamyanets-Podilskyi and the Titular Bishop of Gypsaria since 21 October 2006. Life Bishop Zmitrowicz was born in the Roman-Catholic family in the suburb of Gdańsk. After graduation from the school and lyceum education, he joined the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate in 1981; he made a Profession (religious), solemn profession on 21 May 1987, and was ordained as priest on 17 June 1989, after graduation from the Major Missionary Oblates Theological Seminary in Obra, Greater Poland Voivodeship, Obra, Poland, and Theological faculty of the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, Poland. Missionary Oblates Of Mary Immaculate
The Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate (OMI) is a missionary religious congregation in the Catholic Church. It was founded on January 25, 1816, by Eugène de Mazenod, a French priest later recognized as a Catholic saint. The congregation was given recognition by Pope Leo XII on February 17, 1826. , the congregation was composed of 3,631 priests and lay brothers usually living in community. Their traditional salutation is ('Praised be Jesus Christ'), to which the response is ('And Mary Immaculate'). Members use the post-nominal letters "OMI". As part of its mission to evangelize the "abandoned poor", OMI are known for their mission among the Indigenous peoples of Canada, and their historic administration of at least 57 schools within the Canadian Indian residential school system.
