Radosław Parda
Radosław Parda (born 28 June 1979 in Wrocław) is a Polish politician. He was elected to the Sejm on 25 September 2005, getting 7856 votes in 33 Kielce district as a candidate from the League of Polish Families list. Biography In 2004 he graduated from law studies at the University of Wrocław, and in 2009 also post-graduate studies at the Warsaw School of Economics. From 1993 to 1999 he belonged to the Polish Scouting and Guiding Association. In 1994, he joined the All-Polish Youth, in which he was president of the Wrocław circle, vice-president and then president of the Lower Silesian region. In the years 2002-2004, he served as a member of the general council and treasurer of this organization. Then until April 2005 its president, and from November 2005 to December 2006, chairman of the court of friends. Maciej Giertych
Maciej Marian Giertych (, born 24 March 1936 in Warsaw) is a Polish dendrologist and former far-right politician of the League of Polish Families (LPR). He favours state intervention in the economy. He was a member of the Sejm (between 2001 and 2004) and a Polish member of the European Parliament (from 2004 to 2009). He was a candidate in the 2005 Polish presidential elections, but withdrew from the race because of low vote results (circa 3%). He is a notable creationist. 2005 Polish Parliamentary Election
Parliamentary elections were held in Poland on 25 September 2005. All 460 members of the Sejm and 100 senators of the Senate were elected. The election resulted in a sweeping victory for two opposition parties: the right-wing, national-conservative Law and Justice (PiS) and the centre-right, liberal-conservative Civic Platform (PO). The incumbent centre-left government of the Democratic Left Alliance (SLD) was soundly defeated. PiS won 155 seats and PO 133, while the governing SLD was reduced to fourth place with 55 seats, behind Andrzej Lepper's Self-Defence party, which won 56 seats. Normally, this would have made PiS leader Jarosław Kaczyński Prime Minister. However, he declined the post so as not to prejudice his twin brother Lech's chances for the presidential election held later in October. The Lower Silesian Voivodeship Sejmik () is the regional legislature of the Voivodeship of Lower Silesia in Poland. It is a unicameral legislature consisting of thirty-six councillors chosen during local elections with a five-year term. The current chairperson of the assembly is Jerzy Pokój.
