Radomir Knoll
Radomir Knoll (Radomirska Mogila \'ra-do-mir-ska mo-'gi-la\) rises to approximately 300 m in Prespa Glacier, eastern Livingston Island in the South Shetland Islands, Antarctica. It is formed by the south extremity of an offshoot of Friesland Ridge, Tangra Mountains that extends to the south-southeast from St. Cyril Peak and surmounts Chavei Cove to the south and southwest. The feature is named after the Bulgarian town of Radomir. Location The knoll is located at , which is 1.55 km west of Needle Peak, 2.46 km south-southeast of St. Cyril Peak, 2.66 km northeast of Yambol Peak and 2.15 km northeast of Gela Point (Bulgarian mapping in 2005 and 2009). Gela Point
Gela Point (Nos Gela \'nos ge-'la\) is a point on the west side of the entrance to Chavei Cove on the southeast coast of Rozhen Peninsula on Livingston Island, Antarctica formed by an offshoot of Yambol Peak. Situated on the coast of Bransfield Strait 5.1 km east-northeast of Botev Point, 700 m east-southeast of Yambol Peak, and 4.1 km west-southwest of Samuel Point. Yambol Peak ( bg, връх Ямбол, vrah Yambol, ) is a rocky peak rising to 300 m in the south extremity of Friesland Ridge, Tangra Mountains on Livingston Island in the South Shetland Islands, Antarctica and overlooking Tarnovo Ice Piedmont to the west and Prespa Glacier to the northeast. Needle Peak (Antarctica)
Needle Peak is a sharply pointed black peak, 370 m, standing at the west side of Brunow Bay on the south coast of Livingston Island in the South Shetland Islands. It is situated in the southeast foothills of Friesland Ridge, Tangra Mountains on Rozhen Peninsula, 1 km south-southeast of Ludogorie Peak, and surmounts Prespa Glacier on the west, Brunow Bay on the northeast, Opitsvet Lake on the east and Samuel Point on the east by south. The feature was named ‘Barnards Peak’ on James Weddell's chart published in 1825, but the name ‘Needle Peak’ given by Discovery Investigations personnel following a 1935 survey has succeeded it in usage. Radomir (town)
Radomir ( bg, Радомир ) is a town in the Radomir Municipality in the Pernik Province of Bulgaria. Geography The town of Radomir is located at 764 meters above sea level in the Radomir valley, at the foot of Mount Golo Bardo. It is the center of the historical-geographical region of Mraka. The climate is humid-continental ( Dfb). History The town was first mentioned in a 15th-century source as ''Uradmur''. The current form appears for the first time in a source from 1488. The name is derived directly from the personal name ''Radomir'' or its adjectival form. Not many names of priests and clergymen have been preserved in the history of the small town, but it is a fact that the Radomir valley was defended in the Christian spirit even after the fall of Bulgaria under Ottoman rule at the end of the 14th century.
