Radisson Blu Oslo Cup
The Oslo Cup (formerly the Norway Cup, the Radisson SAS Oslo Cup, the Weber Oslo Cup and the Radisson Blu Oslo Cup) is an annual curling tournament, held in September in Bærum, a suburb of Oslo. It is one of the events on the Nordic Curling Tour. Bærum () is a list of municipalities of Norway, municipality in the Greater Oslo Region in Akershus County, Norway. It forms an affluent suburb of Oslo on the west coast of the city. Ralph Stöckli
Ralph Stöckli (born 23 July 1976 in Uzwil) is a Swiss curler from Lucerne. Stöckli began a successful curling career at the junior level, winning a bronze medal at the World Junior Curling Championships as an alternate in 1994. In 1996, he was the Swiss skip and they won a silver medal, losing to James Dryburgh of Scotland. In 1997 Stöckli won the gold medal defeating Perttu Piilo of Finland in the final. Stöckli ended his junior career with a bronze in 1998. After a 7th-place finish at the 2002 Ford World Curling Championship, Stöckli won a silver at the 2003 Ford World Curling Championship- losing to Canada's Randy Ferbey in the final. Stöckli was the skip of the Swiss team at the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin, Italy. The team finished just out of medal contention with a 5-4 record. Yannick Schwaller
Yannick Schwaller (born 31 March 1995 in Solothurn) is a Swiss curler from Recherswil. He currently skips his own team out of Geneva. Career Juniors Schwaller skipped the Swiss junior men's team at three straight World Junior Curling Championships. In 2014, he led his team of Reto Keller, throwing fourth stones, Patrick Witschonke, Michael Probst and Romano Meier to a 6–3 round robin record. They then beat Italy's Amos Mosaner in a tiebreaker to qualify for the playoffs. There, they defeated Canada's Braden Calvert and Norway's Eirik Mjøen in the 3 vs. 4 page playoff and semifinal games respectively, qualifying for the final. In the final, they won 6–5 over Scotland's Kyle Smith rink to become the World Junior champions, becoming just the fifth Swiss men's team to do so. Steffen Walstad
Steffen Walstad (born 10 February 1989 in Oppdal Municipality) is a Norwegian curler from Oppdal. Career Juniors Walstad played in three World Junior Curling Championships, from 2008 to 2010 inclusive. At the 2008 World Junior Curling Championships, he played third for the Kristian Rolvsfjord rink, finishing in 4th place. He played second for the team at the 2009 World Junior Curling Championships, finishing in 5th place. And at the 2010 World Junior Curling Championships, he played second for the Steffen Mellemseter, finishing 5th overall. 2022 Oslo Cup
The 2022 Oslo Cup was held from September 2 to 4 at the Snarøya Curling Club in Oslo, Norway. The event was held in a round robin format with a purse of NOK 112,000 on the men's side and NOK 88,000 on the women's side. It was the first time the event has been held in ten years. On the men's side, Niklas Edin and his Swedish rink of Oskar Eriksson, Rasmus Wranå, and Christoffer Sundgren capped off an undefeated tournament by beating Norway's Steffen Walstad 5–2 in the championship final. Both teams finished the round robin with a perfect 4–0 record and each won their quarterfinal and semifinal matches. It was the first event title for Team Edin of the 2022–23 season as they missed the playoffs at the 2022 Baden Masters, which Team Walstad won. Markku Uusipaavalniemi (born 23 November 1966) is a Finnish curler and former politician. Curling career Uusipaavalniemi was the skip of Team Finland for the first time in the mid-1990s. Most (but not all) of Finland's curling medals have been achieved with Uusipaavalniemi as skip. Uusipaavalniemi's team won the European Championships in 2000. He is also a two-time World Curling Championships bronze medalist (1998 and 2000) and two-time European Curling Championships bronze medalist (1999 and 2001). Uusipaavalniemi's Finland team disappointingly finished fifth at the 2002 Olympic Games. Tom Brewster
Thomas Brewster Jr. (born 10 April 1974) is a Scottish curler from Aberdeen, Scotland. He is currently the coach of the Kyle Waddell men's team. Career Brewster is a former World Junior champion, having won the title in 1995. The Scottish team which consisted of Paul Westwood, Ronald Brewster, Steve Still and David Murdoch finished 8–1 after the round robin, and defeated Sweden's Henrik Edlund and then Germany's Daniel Herberg to win the championship. Brewster has skipped Scotland to two European Mixed titles, in 2006 and in 2009. Brewster has been a frequent participant in World Curling Tour events, perhaps more so than the more successful Scottish teams. He has won a total of six WCT events, all European events. Niklas Edin
Johan Niklas Edin (born 6 July 1985) is a Swedish curler. He holds several sport distinctions. He is the first and the only skip in World Curling Federation (WCF) history to win three Olympic medals – gold (2022), silver (2018), and bronze (2014). He is also the only curler to skip men's curling teams to seven World Men's Curling Championship gold medals (2013, 2015, 2018, 2019, 2021, 2022, 2024). Edin is a seven-time European Curling Championship titleholder (2009, 2012, 2014–2017, 2019) and won three silver medals in those championships (2011, 2018, 2021).
