Radio Televisión Madrid S.A. (RTVM) is the public broadcaster of the Community of Madrid. History The Ente Público Radio Televisión Madrid was created by means of a 1984 law, during the government of Joaquín Leguina, with the endorsement of all parliamentary forces. The Onda Madrid radio station began its broadcast on 18 February 1985. Telemadrid began its broadcast on 2 May 1989. In 2015, the regional government of Cristina Cifuentes lined up a plan to transform the ente público into a sociedad anónima. María Cristina Cifuentes Cuencas (born 1 July 1964) is a former Spanish politician from the People's Party. She was the President of the Community of Madrid from 24 June 2015 to her 25 April 2018 resignation. From 16 January 2012 to 13 April 2015, she served as the Government Delegate in the Community of Madrid. Biography In 1980, when Cifuentes was 16, she became a member of People's Alliance, which would later become the People's Party of Spain. She studied law at the Complutense University of Madrid. Telemadrid is a public regional television station in the Community of Madrid, Spain, the flagship channel of the regional public broadcaster Radio Televisión Madrid (RTVM). The Assembly of Madrid or Madrid Assembly ( es, Asamblea de Madrid) is the unicameral autonomous legislature of the Autonomous Community of Madrid since the approval of the Madrid Charter of Autonomy in 1983. José Pablo López Sánchez (born 15 May 1977) is a Spanish media executive. Since 22 February 2017, he serves as Director-General of Radio Televisión Madrid (RTVM), the Madrid's regional public broadcasting network. Biography Born in Sayalonga, province of Málaga, on 15 May 1977, López earned a licentiate degree in journalism from the Universidad CEU San Pablo and a licentiate degree in law from the Complutense University of Madrid.
