Radio Rumantsch
Radiotelevisiun Svizra Rumantscha ("Swiss Romansh Radio-Television"; formerly ''Radio e Televisiun Rumantscha'', "Romansh Radio and Television"), shortened to RTR, is a subsidiary of the Swiss Broadcasting Corporation (SRG SSR), operating in Romansh-speaking Switzerland. History The first radio program in Romansh was broadcast on 17 January 1925. The person responsible for this broadcast was Felix Huonder. Regular Romansh programming began in 1943. ''Las Cristallas'', the Romansh "radioscola" (radio school, or lectures delivered by radio broadcast), premiered on 27 January 1955. ''Il Balcun Tort'', the first television program in Romansh, was broadcast on 17 February 1963. This commemorated the 25th anniversary of Romansh's becoming Switzerland's fourth national language. SRF Info
SRF info is a German-language Swiss television channel owned by Schweizer Radio und Fernsehen. The channel started trial broadcasts in May 1999 and regular broadcasts in January 2001. The channel was initially broadcast only via cable and satellite television, but it was also transmitted terrestrially in the German-speaking regions of Switzerland from January 2009 until the cessation of all digital terrestrial television signals across Switzerland on 3 June 2019. Programming The main programmes on the channel come from Schweizer Radio und Fernsehen, which have already been aired on SRF 1 and SRF zwei. SRF zwei (''Swiss Radio and Television Two'') is a Swiss German-language free-to-air television channel run under the public SRG SSR broadcasting group. History The channel was launched in 1997 as 'SF 2' as the German-speaking replacement for the formerly nationwide second public channel S Plus (which originally launched in 1993 and was subsequently renamed Schweiz – Suisse – Svizzera – Svizra 4, Schweiz 4 in 1995). It is the second of the three national German-language channels in Switzerland (the others being SRF 1 and SRF info). SRF 1 (''SRF eins'') is a German-language Swiss television channel, one of three produced by the SRG SSR public-service broadcasting group (the others being SRF zwei and SRF info). The channel, formerly known as SF1, was renamed on 16 December 2012, together with its sister German-speaking TV channels and five radio channels, as part of an exercise aimed at emphasizing their common ownership as well as establishing a shared web presence for all of them. RSI La 2 (''RSI La due'') is a Swiss public television channel owned by Radiotelevisione Svizzera di lingua Italiana. It is a sister channel of RSI La 1, broadcast in Italian. It mainly airs sport programmes, but also reruns and music shows. It does not broadcast any newscasts. History TSI launched its second channel in 1997, basing it on programming for a younger audience and sports. Unlike RSI La 1, RSI La 2 is not broadcast across the whole of Switzerland, but only in Italian-speaking Switzerland. Romansh ( ; sometimes also spelled Romansch and Rumantsch) is a Gallo-Romance languages, Gallo-Romance and/or Rhaeto-Romance languages, Rhaeto-Romance language spoken predominantly in the Switzerland, Swiss Cantons of Switzerland, canton of the Grisons (Graubünden).
