Radio broadcasting in the Philippines existed since the 1920s, and has a strong following. Estimates on the number or radio stations range from 1,200 to 1,500. Overview Radio communications in the Philippines is regulated by the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC), which licenses broadcasters and regulates broadcasting. Broadcasters also require a 25-year Congress of the Philippines, congressional franchise to operate stations and transmitters, which dates from the American colonial era under Act No. 3846 (Radio Control Act). DZRH (666 AM) is a radio station owned and operated by MBC Media Group. The station’s studios are in the MMG Building, Star City, V. DWPM (630 AM), previously branded as Radyo 630, was a radio station owned by Philippine Collective Media Corporation and operated conjointly with ABS-CBN Corporation under Media Serbisyo Production Corporation. The station's studio was located at the ABS-CBN Broadcasting Center, Sgt. Esguerra Avenue, corner of Mother Ignacia Street, Barangay South Triangle, Diliman, Quezon City; its transmitter was located along F. Navarette Street, Barangay Panghulo, Obando, Bulacan. ITU Prefix
The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) allocates call sign prefixes for radio and television stations of all types. They also form the basis for, but may not exactly match, aircraft registration identifiers. These prefixes are agreed upon internationally, and are a form of country code. A call sign can be any number of letters and numerals but each country must only use call signs that begin with the characters allocated for use in that country. With regard to the second and/or third letters in the prefixes in the list below, if the country in question is allocated all callsigns with A to Z in that position, then that country can also use call signs with the digits 0 to 9 in that position.
