Radio America (United States)
Radio America is an American radio network specializing in conservative-oriented talk programming. A division of the American Studies Center, the network says its mission is "to produce and syndicate quality radio programs reflecting a commitment to traditional American values, limited government and the free market." Radio America has a 24/7 schedule of talk shows syndicated to hundreds of radio stations in the U.S. The company's headquarters are on North Glebe Road ( Virginia State Route 120) in Arlington, Virginia, a suburb of Washington, D.C. Radio In The United States
Radio broadcasting has been used in the United States since the early 1920s to distribute news and entertainment to a national audience. In 1923, 1 percent of U.S. households owned at least one radio receiver, while a majority did by 1931 and 75 percent did by 1937. It was the first electronic " mass medium" technology, and its introduction, along with the subsequent development of sound films, ended the print monopoly of mass media. During the Golden Age of Radio it had a major cultural and financial impact on the country. However, the rise of television broadcasting in the 1950s relegated radio to a secondary status, as much of its programming and audience shifted to the new "sight joined with sound" service. ''The Money Pit'' is the largest American syndicated radio show offering home improvement advice. It is hosted by Tom Kraeutler and Leslie Segrete and has a call-in format. As of February 2018, ''The Money Pit'' airs on over 350 radio stations in the US, as well as in Canada and the Caribbean, as well as by podcast. The term “money pit” is a pop-culture reference used to describe any activity which consumes unlimited amounts of money, for example homes which need regular repair, maintenance and improvement. Blues Foundation
The Blues Foundation is an American nonprofit corporation, headquartered in Memphis, Tennessee, that is affiliated with more than 175 blues organizations from various parts of the world. Black Conservatism
Black conservatism is a political and social philosophy rooted in communities of African descent that aligns largely with the conservative ideology around the world. Black conservatives emphasize traditionalism, patriotism, self-sufficiency, and strong cultural and social conservatism within the context of the black church. Joy Browne (born Joy Oppenheim; October 24, 1944 – August 27, 2016), also known as Dr. Joy, was an American talk show host, specializing in advice counselling. She hosted a nationally syndicated call-in talk show for several decades, heard on numerous radio stations in the U.S. and Canada. Early life Browne was born Joy Oppenheim in New Orleans, Louisiana, the oldest of five children born to Nelson Oppenheim, a life insurance salesman, and Ruth Strauss, a teacher. Robert Laurence Barr Jr. (born November 5, 1948) is an American attorney and politician who served as president of the National Rifle Association from 2024 to 2025. He previously served as a federal prosecutor and as a U.S. Representative, representing Georgia's 7th congressional district as a Republican from 1995 to 2003. A veteran of the Vietnam War, North was a National Security Council staff member during the Iran–Contra affair, a political scandal of the late 1980s.
