Radekhiv Raion
Radekhiv Raion () was a raion (district) in Lviv Oblast in western Ukraine. Its administrative center was Radekhiv. The raion was abolished on 18 July 2020 as part of the administrative reform of Ukraine, which reduced the number of raions of Lviv Oblast to seven. The area of Radekhiv Raion was merged into Sheptytskyi Raion, Chervonohrad Raion. The last estimate of the raion population was It was established in 1965. At the time of disestablishment, the raion consisted of two hromadas: * Lopatyn settlement hromada with the administration in the urban-type settlement of Lopatyn; * Radekhiv urban hromada with the administration in Radekhiv. A raion (; ), often translated as district, is the second-level Administrative divisions of Ukraine, administrative division in Ukraine. Raions were created in a 1922 administrative reform of the Soviet Union, to which Ukraine, as the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic, belonged. On 17 July 2020, the Verkhovna Rada (Ukraine's parliament) approved an administrative reform to merge most of the 490 raions, along with the "City of regional significance (Ukraine), cities of regional significance", which were previously outside the raions, into just 136 reformed raions. Lopatyn
Lopatyn (, ) is a rural settlement in Sheptytskyi Raion of Lviv Oblast in Ukraine. It is located on the left bank of the Ostrivka, a left tributary of the Styr in the drainage basin of the Dnieper. Lopatyn hosts the administration of Lopatyn settlement hromada, one of the hromadas of Ukraine. Population: History Until 18 July 2020, Lopatyn belonged to Radekhiv Raion. The raion was abolished in July 2020 as part of the administrative reform of Ukraine, which reduced the number of raions of Lviv Oblast to seven. The area of Radekhiv Raion was merged into Chervonohrad Raion (modern Sheptytskyi Raion). Until 26 January 2024, Lopatyn was designated urban-type settlement. Urban-type Settlement
Urban-type settlement, abbreviated: ; , abbreviated: ; ; ; ; . is an official designation for lesser urbanized settlements, used in several Central and Eastern Europe, Central and Eastern European countries. The term was primarily used in the Soviet Union and later also for a short time in People's Republic of Bulgaria, socialist Bulgaria and Polish People's Republic, socialist Poland. In Ukraine, a hromada () is the main type of municipality and the third level Administrative divisions of Ukraine, local self-government in Ukraine. The current hromadas were established by the Cabinet of ministers of Ukraine, Government of Ukraine on 12 June 2020. A municipality is designated ''urban hromada'' if its administration is located in a city; ''settlement hromada'' if it is located in a settlement (''selyshche''), and ''rural hromada'' if it is located in a village (Village#Ukraine, ''selo'') or a ''selyshche''. Sheptytskyi Raion
Sheptytskyi Raion () is a raion (district) of Lviv Oblast, Ukraine. It was known as Chervonohrad Raion () from 2020 until 2024. The center of the raion is the city of Sheptytskyi. Population: History From the 12th century, the area that is now Sheptytskyi Raion was part of the Duchy of Belz, before being incorporated into the Polish Belz Voivodeship in the 15th century. The areas became part of the Ukrainian SSR as a result of the 1951 Polish–Soviet territorial exchange. The raion was created as Chervonohrad Raion on 18 July 2020 as part of the reform of administrative divisions of Ukraine.
