Rachel Drazan
Rachael Drazan (born January 11, 1986) played several games for the 2009–10 United States national women's ice hockey team. Drazan also played hockey for the Minnesota Golden Gophers women's ice hockey program. For the seasons 2009–2010 and 2010–2011, she played for the Minnesota Whitecaps, a professional women's ice hockey team in the WWHL. Drazan, who now goes by her married name (Rachael Malmberg), is a lung cancer survivor. Playing career Minnesota Duluth Bulldogs Drazan was one of three Bulldogs named to the WCHA All-Star Team, which faced the United States National Team in September 2005. As a Bulldog, she was named to the WCHA All-Rookie Team her freshman year. Orono ( , ) is a city in Hennepin County, Minnesota, Hennepin County, Minnesota, United States. It is a suburb of Minneapolis located about to the west on the north shore of Lake Minnetonka. Bemidji State Beavers Women's Ice Hockey
The Bemidji State Beavers are a women's college hockey team representing Bemidji State University in Bemidji, Minnesota, United States. They play at the NCAA Division I level, and compete in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA). History The Bemidji State University intercollegiate women's ice hockey program began competition in the 1998–1999 season. The first head coach was Ruthann Cantile. She was head coach from the program's founding to the start of WCHA play, and the beginning of national NCAA Championships in 2001. Over the next several years, Bemidji State met with little success, while playing against the best teams in the nation, in conference play. The Harvard Crimson women's ice hockey team represents Harvard University in National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I women's hockey. Harvard competes as a member of the ECAC Conference and plays its home games at the Bright Hockey Center in Boston, Massachusetts. History The Harvard Crimson "iced" its first regular season women's hockey team in the 1978–79 season. Their first game was a 17–0 defeat at the hands of the Providence Friars women's ice hockey program. The next game was a 2–1 loss to the Yale Bulldogs women's ice hockey program. Ice hockey (or simply hockey in North America) is a team sport played on ice skates, usually on an ice skating rink with lines and markings specific to the sport.
