''Racecar Is Racecar Backwards'' is the debut full-length album by the British rock band Reuben. It was recorded between July and November 2003, and was produced by Jason Wilson at Stakeout Studios when it was based in Chobham. The album's third single, "Freddy Krueger", placed 53rd on the UK Singles Charts and is the band's most recognized song. Music and lyrics The music on "Racecar is Racecar Backwards" has been described as taking influence from a wide array of genres including nu-metal, math rock, grunge, emo and pop rock. The main riff of the song "Song for Saturday" was made up on the spot by Jamie when the band's manager asked to hear their new song in soundcheck. Hell Is for Heroes are an English post-hardcore band from London. Founder members Will McGonagle and Joe Birch (previously of Symposium) were joined by James Findlay, Tom O'Donoghue and later Justin Schlosberg. "Scared of the Police" is the debut single by Surrey-based rock band Reuben. It was recorded in December 2001 at EMI studios in London with Idlewild/ 80's Matchbox producer Paul Tipler, and was the first recording to be released with Guy Davis on drums. The band's press company had suggested that they release a single, so they approached Andy Ross of Food records to release it as the first record on his new label, Bossmusic. It was released in March 2002 and reached #87 in the UK chart, impressive for a small release, and received good reviews from the music magazines, most notably a KKKKK rating from Andrew W.K in that week's issue of Kerrang! magazine.
