Rabid Records
Rabid Records is a Swedish record label founded in 1998 by members of Honey Is Cool. Today the label is operated by Karin Dreijer and Olof Dreijer of the synthpop duo The Knife, as well as Frau Rabid. The label rarely releases anything other than works by The Knife, but it is currently the home of Jenny Wilson, First Aid Kit, and DJ Coolof (the stage name of Olof Dreijer). In the past, the label has put out albums and EPs by Honey Is Cool, Monster & Maskiner, Rockmonster, and Calle P. Rabies is a viral disease that causes encephalitis in humans and other mammals. Early symptoms can include fever and tingling at the site of exposure. These symptoms are followed by one or more of the following symptoms: nausea, vomiting, violent movements, uncontrolled excitement, fear of water, an inability to move parts of the body, confusion, and loss of consciousness. Once symptoms appear, the result is virtually always death, regardless of treatment. The time period between contracting the disease and the start of symptoms is usually one to three months but can vary from less than one week to more than one year. ''Deep Cuts'' is the second studio album by Swedish electronic music duo the Knife. It was released on 17 January 2003 by Rabid Records. The 2004 version contains three additional tracks (taken from '' Hannah med H Soundtrack'') and is packaged with a DVD containing music videos. On 31 October 2006, Mute Records issued ''Deep Cuts'' and the Knife's eponymous debut album in the United States, marking the first US release of both albums. It was released in Sweden on 27 December 2002 as the lead single from their second studio album '' Deep Cuts'' (2003) and re-released on 4 October 2004. The song was listed at number 15 on Pitchfork Media's top 500 songs of the 2000s and at number 87 on ''Rolling Stones top 100 songs of the 2000s. In October 2011, ''NME'' placed it at number 95 on its list "150 Best Tracks of the Past 15 Years". Adjectives used to describe the music were "haunting" and "electro".
