Rabbit (Winnie-the-Pooh)
Rabbit is a fictional character in the book series and cartoons ''Winnie-the-Pooh''. He is a friend of Winnie-the-Pooh, regards himself as practical and tends to take the lead, though not always with the results that he intends. In the books The first appearance of Rabbit is in chapter II in the ''Winnie-the-Pooh'' book by A. A. Milne. He also appears in chapters VII, VIII, IX and X of that book, as well as in chapters III, V, VI, VII, VIII, IX, and X in '' The House at Pooh Corner''. While most of the cast in the books are based on stuffed animals owned by Christopher Robin Milne, Ernest H. Shepard's illustrations of Rabbit look more like a living animal. Rabbit resembles an ordinary rabbit, except that he walks on two legs and uses his front paws as hands. The top of his head reaches about to Pooh's nose. Winnie-the-Pooh
Winnie-the-Pooh (also known as Edward Bear, Pooh Bear or simply Pooh) is a fictional Anthropomorphism, anthropomorphic teddy bear created by English author A. A. Milne and English illustrator E. H. Shepard. Winnie-the-Pooh first appeared by name in a children's story commissioned by London's ''The Evening News (London newspaper), Evening News'' for Christmas Eve 1925. The character is inspired by a stuffed toy that Milne had bought for his son Christopher Robin Milne, Christopher Robin in Harrods department store, and a bear they had viewed at London Zoo. The first collection of stories about the character is the book ''Winnie-the-Pooh (book), Winnie-the-Pooh'' (1926), and this was followed by ''The House at Pooh Corner'' (1928). Will Ryan
William Ryan (May 21, 1949 – November 19, 2021) was an American voice actor, musician and singer. He provided the voice of Petrie in the 1988 animated film '' The Land Before Time''. He was also known for his voice work as Eugene Meltsner in the Christian radio drama '' Adventures in Odyssey'' and Grubby in '' The Adventures of Teddy Ruxpin''. Junius Conyers Matthews (June 12, 1890 – January 18, 1978) was an American actor in films, theater, radio and television. David Henry Benedictus (16 September 1938 – 4 October 2023) was an English writer and theatre director, best known for his novels. His work included the Winnie-the-Pooh novel '' Return to the Hundred Acre Wood'' (2009). It was the first such book in 81 years. ''Return to the Hundred Acre Wood'' is a ''Winnie-the-Pooh'' novel published on 5 October 2009. Written by David Benedictus and illustrated by Mark Burgess, it was the first such book since 1928 and introduced the character Lottie the Otter. In the mid-1990s, after completing an audio adaptation of A. A. Milne's ''Winnie-the-Pooh'' stories, Benedictus wrote two ''Pooh'' short stories of his own and submitted them to the trustees of the Milne estate. The trustees replied that they were unable to publish the stories because " Walt Disney owned all the rights." However, ten years later, Benedictus was contacted by the trustees, who explained that "the sequel rights had reverted to them" and asked Benedictus to make changes to one of the short stories and to submit some more.
