Rabaḍ () refers to the suburbs of seventh- to eighth-century cities in Central Asia, including what is now the Turkistan Region in southern Kazakhstan, Iran, and Afghanistan. Rábade
Rábade, also known as San Vicenzo de Rábade, is a town and in the province of Lugo, and the smallest municipality in Galicia, northwestern Spain. It belongs to the comarca of Lugo. Rábade has a population of about 1500 and an area of 5.2 km². It is at an altitude of 400 meters. Until 28 May 1925 Rábade was part of Begonte. The town's name is of Arabic origin. Ribat
A ribāṭ (; hospice, hostel, base or retreat) is an Arabic term, initially designating a small fortification built along a frontier during the first years of the Muslim conquest of the Maghreb to house military volunteers, called ''murabitun'', and shortly after they also appeared along the Byzantine frontier, where they attracted converts from Greater Khorasan, an area that would become known as al-ʻAwāṣim in the ninth century CE. The ''ribat'' fortifications later served to protect commercial routes, as caravanserais, and as centers for isolated Muslim communities as well as serving as places of piety. Central Asia
Central Asia is a region of Asia consisting of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan.
