RTI 2
RTI 2 is an Ivorian television channel. The channel targets a younger audience. History RTI 2 started broadcasting in November 1983. Unlike the existing RTI channel, its coverage area was limited to Abidjan and adjacent areas. As Canal 2, the channel's transmitter covered a radius of 50km, with limited programming on Tuesdays and Fridays from 8:30pm. After broadcasting as an experimental service for several years, RTI reformatted the channel as TV2 on 1 November 1991, using the same transmitter as before. The channel broadcast on VHF channel 10, expanding the reach to 150km and was defined by RTI as a "proximity channel for Abidjan". The channel's audience increased after the introduction of a new schedule in March 1997 (redeveloped in 1999). The impulse for the creation of a regular second channel was given to Amadou Thiam, Félix Houphouët-Boigny's former ambassador of the Ivory Coast to Morocco. La Première (RTI) () is a pioneering terrestrial television channel in Côte d'Ivoire. It was formerly named Radio Télévision Ivoirienne (RTI), (the name of the company operating it) from 1963 to 1983, but in 1983 a new television channel made it necessary for the channel to be renamed to ''La Première''. The passage of Law nº62-402 on 31 October 1962 led to the founding of RTI with the aim of creating a television service. Félix Houphouët-Boigny
Félix Houphouët-Boigny (; 18 October 1905 – 7 December 1993), affectionately called Papa Houphouët or Le Vieux ("The Old One"), was an Ivorian politician and physician who served as the first List of heads of state of Ivory Coast, president of Ivory Coast from 1960 until his death in 1993. A tribal chief, he worked as a medical aide, union leader, and planter before being elected to the French Parliament in 1945. TVAfrica was a pan-African television network founded in 1998 by former advertising executive Dave Kelly alongside sports broadcaster Berry Lambert. The network relayed up to 80% of its content to private television stations in sub-Saharan Africa and also licensed the broadcast of sporting events (excluding South Africa due to licensing regulations) to interested broadcasters. Bouaké (or Bwake, N'Ko script, N’ko: ߓߐ߰ߞߍ߫ ''Bɔ̀ɔkɛ́'') is the second-largest list of cities in Ivory Coast, city in Ivory Coast, with a population of 740,000 (2021 census). Mariam Coulibaly (television Presenter)
Mariam Coulibaly (born July 27, 1977), known by the nickname Mam Coul, is an Ivorian radio and television presenter. In 2025, she was appointed director of the broadcaster RTI 2. Biography Mariam Coulibaly was born in Ivory Coast in 1977, and she grew up in Gagnoa. Her mother, a local politician, was from the country's Southwest, while her father, a sports coach, was from the North. As a high school student in Gagnoa, she became involved in extracurricular activities that led her to discover an interest in radio broadcasting. After graduating in 1996, she enrolled in the law department at the University of Abidjan, where she obtained a degree in legal sciences.
