RK Železničar Niš () was a Serbian handball club based in Niš. History The club played its first competitive game on 26 July 1949, which is considered to be the club's foundation date. They went on to compete in the Yugoslav Championship for over 20 seasons. In 1976–77, the club won its first trophy, the Yugoslav Cup. They subsequently reached the Cup Winners' Cup final in 1978, losing to VfL Gummersbach. On 7 September 2009, the club merged with ORK Niš to form RK Naissus. Ivan Lapčević (; born 26 March 1976) is a Serbian handball coach and former player. Club career After starting out at his hometown club Župa Aleksandrovac, Lapčević went on to play for Železničar Niš (1996–2001), Barcelona (2001–2002), VfL Gummersbach (2002–2005), MKB Veszprém (2005–2010), Napredak Kruševac (2010), Puerto Sagunto (2010–2011) and Romagna (2011–2012). International career At international level, Lapčević represented Serbia and Montenegro (known as FR Yugoslavia until 2003) in six major tournaments, winning two bronze medals at the World Championships (1999 and 2001). European Handball Federation
The European Handball Federation (EHF) is the umbrella organisation for European handball. Founded on 17 November 1991, it is made of 50 member federations and two associated federations (England and Scotland), and is headquartered in Vienna, Austria. History EHF was founded on 17 November 1991 in Berlin, Germany, although the first EHF Congress convened on 5 June 1992 and assigned EHF's headquarters to Vienna, Austria from 1 September that year. In 2012 the EHF Office celebrated 20 years since it first opened its doors. In the subsequent years, the number of member countries has expanded from the initial 29 to its current number of 50, after Kosovo was granted full membership at the EHF Congress in Dublin, Ireland in September 2014. Svetislav Jovanović (handballer)
Svetislav Jovanović ( sr-cyr, Светислав Јовановић; 15 March 1861 – 1933) was a Serbian Realist painter. Biography He was born on March 15, 1861, in Vršac. He was the brother of the famous Serbian painter Paja Jovanović and Milan Jovanović, the most famous Serbian photographer of the 19th century. He finished high school in Vienna, where he began his studies in painting. He continued his studies in 1879 in Petrograd, Munich (with his brother Paja Jovanović) and Paris at the Zillian Academy. He spent most of his life in Paris, where he lived for fifty years. He was especially esteemed in Paris, where he lived and was gladly accepted into the highest circles of France. Zoran Živković (handballer)
Zoran "Tuta" Živković (; born 5 April 1945) is a Serbian former handball coach and player. Club career Živković started playing handball at his hometown club Železničar Niš, before moving to Crvenka. He would help them win the national championship in 1969. Later on, Živković played for and served as head coach of FAP. He also spent two seasons with Metaloplastika, before moving abroad to Germany. International career At international level, Živković competed for Yugoslavia at the 1972 Summer Olympics, winning the gold medal. Rolando Pušnik (born 13 December 1961) is a Slovenian former handball player.
